Amrit Bharat Express: PM Modi flagged off the new Amrit Bharat Express, check route and fare

Amrit Bharat Express: PM Modi flagged off the Amrit Bharat Express between Odisha and Gujarat, with fares starting at just ₹495. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav inspected the Surat bullet train station and announced that the journey from Surat to Mumbai will take just one hour.

Amrit Bharat Express: Indian Railways is continuously taking major steps to meet the country’s passenger and freight transportation needs. Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the Amrit Bharat Express from Brahmapur (Odisha) to Udhna (Gujarat). This new-generation train is designed for economical, safe, and long-distance travel.

The train aims to provide fast and modern connectivity between two major industrial states of the country – Odisha and Gujarat. The train will pass through five states – Gujarat, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, and Odisha – and connect 22 districts.

Why is the Amrit Bharat Express special?

The new train has been designed with special attention to passenger comfort and safety. It features modern, ergonomic seating. Fully interconnected coaches facilitate passenger movement. It features a twin-engine configuration, ensuring high safety and reliable operation.

What is the fare for the Amrut Bharat Express?

The fares of the Amrit Bharat Express are very affordable. General class fares are ₹495 and non-AC sleeper class fares are ₹795 per journey. The Railway Minister stated that just as the Vande Bharat train has reinvented middle-class travel, the Amrit Bharat Express will provide passengers with modern amenities at a very affordable price.

Benefits to both industry and faith

This new connectivity will give a new direction to Gujarat’s diamond and textile industries. Small and medium-sized entrepreneurs and youth will find new employment and business opportunities. Furthermore, this train will also prove to be a major convenience for pilgrims visiting the Maa Tara Tarini Shaktipeeth in Odisha.

Gujarat’s stations will be world-class

The Railways has prepared a master development plan for Gujarat, keeping in mind the needs of the next 50 years. Under this plan, stations like Udhna, Surat, Bilimora, and Sachin are being redeveloped.

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav reviewed the redevelopment work at Udhna station today. He said the station is being designed with modern facilities. Platform and pit line capacity is being increased to facilitate the movement of passenger and freight trains.

Work at Surat Bullet Train Station is Progressing Fast

The Railway Minister also inspected the bullet train station and track laying work in Surat. He stated that work from Surat to Bilimora is progressing rapidly. The civil structure of the station has been completed, and finishing and utility work is now underway. The first turnout (where the tracks join or diverge) has been successfully installed at the station. Roller bearings have been installed on the tracks, ensuring smooth and safe high-speed train movement.

Sleepers made of composite material have been installed instead of concrete, providing greater durability and improved performance. Dampers have been installed on the tracks to reduce noise and vibration. The Railway Minister stated that this project will reduce the journey from Surat to Mumbai in just one hour.

Progress of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project

India’s first high-speed rail project – the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train – will set a new example of connectivity in the country. Within this 508-kilometer corridor, 323 kilometers of viaducts and 399 kilometers of piers have been completed. Seventeen river bridges and several steel and concrete bridges have been completed. Work is underway on seven tunnels in Palghar district and a 21-kilometer underground tunnel in Mumbai. These projects will not only enhance passenger convenience but also transform the entire Ahmedabad-Mumbai corridor into an economic corridor.

Today was a significant day in the history of Indian Railways. While Prime Minister Modi dedicated the Amrit Bharat Express to passengers, the Railway Minister showcased the progress of the bullet train station in Surat, giving a glimpse of the country’s high-speed rail future. In the coming years, these projects will not only make travel faster and more comfortable but will also accelerate the progress of industry, trade, and faith-related sectors.
