Yeh Saali Aashiqui star Vardhan Puri was set to shoot his upcoming film in Nepal. But due to the ongoing political unrest, the shoot has been put on hold. Now, the grandson of veteran actor Amrish Puri has opened up about the recent development of his project. Additionally, he shared his warm welcome from Manisha Koirala in her homeland.
In a recent conversation, Vardhan Puri revealed that his film shoot was scheduled to begin on October 1 in Nepal. But he revealed the project has been postponed due to the political unrest in the country. Explaining the reason why the film’s shoot has been stalled for the time being, he told ETimes, “We were supposed to start the shoot from October 1, but now we have pushed it ahead. This is one of those projects that cannot be shot anywhere else.”
Vardhan Puri Was Set To Lead The Postponed Film
He delved further into the details of his now-delayed project and shared, “The producer is from France, the cast is Indian, and I’m leading the film. I hope to start the shoot in Nepal soon.” Despite the shoot getting postponed, he shared, “I feel connected to the place and people. We will see the political scenario and then decide when to resume.”
Vardhan Puri Shares Manisha Koirala’s Warm Welcoming Nature
The actor visited Nepal last year and spent a lovely time with the people over there. Giving an insight from his experience, he shared, “My trip to Nepal in 2024 was extremely joyous. I have travelled across the world, but this was one of the most memorable ones. The people were kind and welcoming. There’s something so peaceful about the place, and it breaks my heart to see what’s happening there currently.”
Vardhan was welcomed by veteran actress Manisha Koirala, who hails from the country, during his work-related vacation. Talking highly about the warm nature, he recalled, “She was the perfect host. The love she gets there is immense; she’s called the daughter of Nepal.”

Vardhan Puri’s Professional Front
The grandson of actor Amrish Puri made his acting debut in 2019 with the film Yeh Saali Aashiqui, co-starring Shivaleeka Oberoi. Before that, Vardhan worked as an assistant director for the films Daawat-e-Ishq, Shuddh Desi Romance and Ishaqzaade. Four years after his debut, he played Ronnie in Aseq alongside Sonnalli Seygall, followed by several other films.
Looking ahead, he has a film titled Nautanki in his pipeline.
