Amitabh Bachchan’s family is making new moves in Mumbai. His son-in-law, Nikhil Nanda, has reportedly bought a luxury apartment worth nearly Rs 28 crore in the city’s upmarket Juhu neighbourhood — the same area where the Bachchans’ well-known bungalows Prateeksha and Jalsa are located. As per documents accessed by Liases Foras, a real estate research and data analytics firm, the property deal was registered on October 16, 2025. The purchase was carried out through Nikhil’s sister, Nitasha Nanda, who signed as his Power of Attorney. Nikhil, the Chairman and Managing Director of Escorts Kubota Limited, is currently based in Delhi. However, this new investment hints that the Bachchan-Nanda family may now be spending more time in Mumbai, especially with their children, Agastya and Navya Naveli Nanda, building their careers in the city. The apartment covers a whopping 3,139 sq ft, along with an additional 411 sq ft terrace area, taking the total size to about 3,550 sq ft. The documents also mention three dedicated car parking spaces, adding to the apartment’s premium features. Registered at a value of Rs 28.39 crore, the deal included a stamp duty payment of Rs 1.70 crore. The new home’s location — close to the Bachchans’ iconic residences — places Nikhil and Shweta’s family right in the heart of Mumbai’s celebrity neighbourhood. Nikhil Nanda and Shweta Bachchan relationship The couple tied the knot in 1997, bringing together two of Bollywood’s most respected dynasties — the Bachchans and the Kapoors. Their wedding was one of the most talked-about events of the time, attended by some of the biggest names from film and business circles. Nikhil, the son of Ritu Nanda and Rajan Nanda, is the grandson of the legendary Raj Kapoor, while Shweta is the daughter of Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan. The couple have two children, Navya Naveli Nanda and Agastya Nanda. While Nikhil and Shweta Bachchan Nanda have largely lived in Delhi, their children have become familiar faces in Mumbai’s entertainment circles. Agastya Nanda, who made his acting debut in Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies, recently appeared on Kaun Banega Crorepati with Zoya and his co-stars. During the episode, when Zoya reminisced about visiting Big B’s home Prateeksha as a child, Amitabh revealed that the old music room there has now become Agastya’s room. Agastya will soon be seen in Sriram Raghavan’s Ikkis alongside Dharmendra, while Navya continues to make waves as an entrepreneur and influencer.
