American Man Tries Robotic Legs In China, Walks And Runs With ‘No Effort’: ‘So Useful For The Elderly’

An American tourist had a surprising experience in China when he discovered robotic legs designed for hiking, running and climbing hills. A video shows him being fitted with the Sport Assist Robot around his legs and hips. Once activated, the device makes climbing and long walks significantly easier.
As he takes his first steps, it becomes clear how powerful the robotic legs are. Users can control the level of assistance, and at higher settings, it almost feels like the robot is walking for you—something the amazed American visitor couldn’t stop marvelling at.

After the content creator inquires about the robot, the salesperson says, “It can help you climb, walk, run and ride. This is the best technology in China, I can say the best technology in the world, a portable robot. It has AI, and it can feel you walking through frequency. This robot will fit you, not you fit the robot.”
After trying the robot, the vlogger said, “It feels pretty light, it’s like 1.8 kgs. So it’s like 4 pounds in total. He’s wrapping it around my kneecaps. Somethings happening with the legs,” and after waling a few steps, he adds, “I’m putting no efforts into running and i’m running so good.”
When the vlogger asked to set the robotic legs to highest power, he felt as if the robot was doing all the walking for him. It made moving forward so easy that it almost felt like he wasn’t walking at all.
Taking to Instagram, the content creator wrote, “This occurred in Zhangjiajie National Park. Here you can see me getting set up with the robotic suite, an explanation on how it is used, running, and even the price. These robotic legs are rented out to people in the national park to help with hiking. For rent, it is $22, but to buy them for personal use is $950. These robotic legs are so crazy, you can control how much power and sometimes it doesn’t even feel like you are walking.”

Reacting to the post, a user wrote, “Soon or later, the USA will have to realise that China is the world’s leading and most advanced technology.”
Another shared, “That technology will surely help seniors or anybody who has knee problems. Military men would love these, especially when hauling their heavy equipment.”
“Sometimes I think we’re lied to about what China really is,” a comment read.
An individual stated, “In the US, they would classify it as a medical device and sell it for 50k, or you would need your health insurance and a prescription.”
One more added, “We’d better not go to war with China. They’re way ahead of us in technology.”
Normally, people rent these robots for short-term use, but the shop owner said it is also possible to buy one. The cost is around $915 (approximately Rs 81,000), which the creator found much less expensive than he expected.
