Last Friday, the Amansie Homecoming Festival and Educational Fund was officially launched at the Yeguaa International Hotel in a colourful, memorable ceremony. The event brought together a cross-section of dignitaries, traditional authorities, community leaders, and citizens from across the Amansie enclave and beyond. The grand launch, which marked the beginning of a new era for the Amansie community, was graced by the representative of the Ashanti Regional Minister, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Bekwai, and several prominent traditional rulers, including the Paramount Chief of Essumeja, the Paramount Chief of Bekwai, and the Paramount Queen Mother of Adankranja. Delivering the keynote address on behalf of the Chairman of the occasion, Mr Justice Amoh, Nana Gyimah Wadieh Amoateng II commended the organisers for their vision in creating a platform that celebrates the area’s cultural heritage while fostering education and development. He urged citizens of Amansie, both at home and abroad, to unite behind the initiative and contribute to the progress of their communities. “This festival is not just about celebration; it is about preserving our culture, promoting unity, and investing in the future of our children through education,” Nana Gyimah Wadieh Amoateng II stated. The traditional leaders present also emphasised the importance of the Amansie Homecoming Festival as a vehicle for cultural preservation and economic empowerment. They called on all natives of the Amansie area to support the festival’s development agenda and contribute to the sustainability of the newly launched Educational Fund. One of the major highlights of the event was the official unveiling of the Amansie Educational Fund, an initiative designed to support brilliant but needy students across the Amansie traditional areas. The Fund will provide scholarships, bursaries, and other forms of academic support to empower the next generation of leaders. Guests were treated to a vibrant display of traditional drumming and dancing, cultural performances, and a rich exhibition of Amansie’s diverse culinary heritage. The atmosphere was charged with excitement, pride, and a deep sense of community spirit as participants reflected on the importance of unity and cultural identity. In his closing remarks, the Municipal Chief Executive for Bekwai commended the initiative, describing it as a timely intervention that aligns with the government’s vision of promoting education and local development. He pledged the Assembly’s support to ensure the sustainability of the Educational Fund and the success of future festival editions. The Amansie Homecoming Festival and Educational Fund Launch was organised by Idea 234 and Consult Ltd, in partnership with Oyerepa TV and Yeguaa International Hotel. The event marks the beginning of a series of activities leading up to the main celebration, which promises to be one of the most significant cultural events in the Ashanti Region this year. Through this festival, the people of Amansie have reaffirmed their commitment to preserving their rich traditions, promoting education, and building a stronger, united community for generations to come.
