TV star Amanda Holden hilariously called out her husband over his "horrific" antics when he scares her as she plans a half-term break with one of her daughters. The Britain's Got Talent judge is heading to Los Angeles with her youngest child Hollie, 14, because the pair both love Halloween. Amanda's husband, record producer Chris Hughes, is less enamoured by the upcoming holiday - but that doesn't stop him from scaring his wife all year round by donning a Michael Myers-style hockey mask. Amanda had her say on her husband's behaviour. Speaking to Heart FM co-host Jamie Theakston , yesterday, she said: "You know what Chris has got, Chris has never ever dressed up - this is my husband. He's got a Mike Myers mask. "He wears it at any point of the year and jumps out at me. I don't think he's ever come trick or treating and worn it, he's just gone as himself. "But that is horrific having that jump out on you." The iconic character of Michael Myers first appeared in 1978 slasher movie Halloween, launching a hugely successful franchise. The character, first played by Nick Castle, almost always wears a disturbing hockey mask. Amanda also spoke about her upcoming holiday Stateside during her chat with Jamie yesterday (Friday, October 24), though she admitted she is struggling to come up with costume ideas. She explained: "I'm going to LA baby. Only because me and my youngest daughter love Halloween. We went last year as a mother-daughter thing and we are going this year. "I don't know what to go as though because when I get there I'll get a costume. I keep thinking I'll go as a Dallas cheerleader. "That's my only thing with America, I like to do horror and they like you to dress up as anything you want. Then I think it's less hassle for dinner after." It comes as Amanda also had her say on the next hosts of Strictly Come Dancing after the shock news broke that Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman had quit the hit BBC show. Speaking with Jamie and fellow Heart presenter Ashley Roberts - who appeared on Strictly in 2018 - she said: "I think it's gonna be tricky because what you...what I think what they need to do is think left-field, rather than half the people they're putting in the papers today, because they're just boring. "I'm like, 'Think left-field'; think of somebody that can dance, that's been on the show". At this point, Ashley could be heard laughing, as she replied: "Could it be me? Let's toss my name in the mix." Amanda continued: "I'll tell you the other thing, as well, is it's a big commitment; there's, you know, lots of weekends taken up, but I think you'd be alright", to which Ashley replied that she'd "absolutely love it", although Strictly bosses "haven't reached out yet". Catch Amanda this evening (Saturday, October 26) at 5.35pm on BBC One as she hosts game show The Celebrity Inner Circle. Contestants include Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson , Olympic champion Sam Quek and Good Morning Britain presenter Charlotte Hawkins.
