A wide "do not travel" warning has been issued after multiple people were stabbed on a train in Cambridgeshire . The British Transport Police (BTP) and Cambridgeshire Constabulary were called to the incident that took place in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire on Saturday evening (November 1) at around 7:39pm. According to officials, "multiple people" were stabbed in the incident. Two men have since been arrested and a number of people have been taken to hospital. Writing on X, formerly Twitter , the BTP said: "We are currently responding to an incident on a train to Huntingdon where multiple people have been stabbed. "Officers are in attendance alongside Cambridgeshire Constabulary and two people have been arrested. Further updates will be shared here." Since the incident, a "Do Not Travel" warning has been issued by LNER. The LNER site says: "The emergency services are dealing with an incident between Stevenage and Peterborough. To allow them to carry our their work all lines are closed. Trains running between these stations may be delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised. "Major disruption is expected until the end of the day." The rail company said: "Our advice is 'Do Not Travel'. Please defer your travel where you can. Your existing ticket will be valid to use up to and including Monday 03 November. Please make a new seat reservation for your newly intended journey here ." At around 9pm, Cambridgeshire Constabulary shared a statement on Facebook, which reads: "We were called at 7.39pm with reports that multiple people had been stabbed on a train. "Armed officers attended and the train was stopped at Huntingdon, where two men were arrested. A number of people have been taken to hospital. The incident remains ongoing and the A1307 has been closed as you approach the town centre." Appealing for witnesses, the Cambridgeshire Constabulary said: "Officers are working with British Transport Police, who are leading on the incident, and anyone with any information is urged to report this to us online: https://www.cambs.police.uk/.../tell-us-about-existing.../ quoting incident 495 of today (1 November).
