Alexandra Daddario Addresses Whether She Would Join James Gunn’s DC Universe As Wonder Woman

The DC Universe has several plans for various famous heroes and villains to come to life across the big and small screens. The DCU's Chapter 1: "Gods and Monsters" has just begun, but James Gunn's superhero reboot is already confirmed to bring multiple iconic characters into his franchise. ScreenRant's own Grant Hermanns recently interviewed Alexandra Daddario for her new film, I Wish You All The Best, while also asking her about audience members who want to see her as Wonder Woman or Catwoman in Gunn's DCU, with lots of fan art having been made of her as the DC icons. "I have to be honest, I haven't seen any of that [fan art]," she began However, Daddario made it clear that "I'm flattered to hear that it's happening, but I haven't seen it." If the offer were to present itself, she would love to join the DCU, saying, "But of course, working with James Gunn would be amazing in any capacity, but I wasn't aware that that was going on." From Daddario as Catwoman, to her as the iconic Amazon heroine, both characters are confirmed to appear in the DCU. Diana had a brief cameo in Creature Commandos through Circe's future vision. Gunn confirmed on Threads back on September 29, 2025, that he has plans for Catwoman in the DCU, although he has yet to confirm in what project she will appear. However, DC Studios has active plans for Wonder Woman. The DCU's Wonder Woman movie was first revealed to be in development back on June 10, 2025, when Gunn confirmed that a script was being written. On July 21, 2025, Supergirl writer Ana Nogueira was revealed to be penning the screenplay. DC Studios also has a Wonder Woman prequel show in the works, called Paradise Lost, as Gunn shared to Entertainment Weekly on June 10, 2025, is "slow moving, but it's moving." The creative team for the potential series has yet to be revealed. With several popular Wonder Woman casting choices out there, it remains to be seen if DC Studios will have an established name like Daddario playing her. The possibility also exists for an unknown getting to portray the Themyscira legend. Once the script is finished, and if Daddario gets cast as Wonder Woman, 2028 would be a realistic release year for her solo film. For the time being, DC Studios hasn't slated any of its upcoming DCU movies for 2028. Daddario in the DCU has been a popular concept for quite some time, with the 39-year-old star having been imagined for several beloved characters in the DC canon. As of right now, the Wonder Woman movie in the DCU has not been given a release date.
