Alexander Jensen responds to Aberdeen criticism as Dane throws his support behind under-fire Jimmy Thelin

Alexander Jensen has insisted the biggest pressure he is feeling is from inside to get himself and Aberdeen going. The Danish defender was one of the top Dons in the second half of last season but he and everybody else in red has struggled to get going this in this campaign. Jensen is confident that things will turn but wants to make sure that happens at Motherwell on Saturday. He said: “I think it's more the pressure from myself to go out and make a good performance. “It's more that we want to do good as a team and as players than it is from. “Of course, we are aware that everybody wants to win and we want this as bad as everyone else. “So it's more, I think, from the inside, that we have to win now, and we have to do good to win.” The right-back hasn’t been immune to the criticism either, with many Dons fans saying he doesn’t seem to have the same directness in the final third, as to when he arrived in January. He acknowledged: “Maybe there can be something about it that I don't know. “We are trying our best to go forward as much as we can and do our best. “I don't know really what to say about that. “Of course, everyone has to do better, myself included. “I think it's a matter of time before it will come again and, of course, it has not been like that when you haven't won in five games. “Everyone wants to do better.” Jimmy Thelin has stated that his players are still behind him and Jensen has echoed that. He claimed: "Everyone is in this together. "It is the players and the manager and we are all behind each other. "We are more united than ever and we are aware that we need to get past this and to start winning football matches like we know we can. "When we turn this around it will make us even closer and more united. "We are already united but hopefully it can become a big posititve when we are past this." Jensen senses a real belief within his squad but accepts that must be transformed into wins and points on the board. He explained: “Yeah, of course, it would have been better, maybe, but the feeling is that we will turn this around. “Absolutely, I think it will, and I have a strong belief that it will turn around.” “We have a strong belief that we can do it together. “I think we have that mentality and ability to turn it around. “Now we just have to go out and do our best in a football game, as we always do and we know we can do. “It is fine margins, we just have to get those margins over to our side. “But it's also maybe a small little details that we can adjust and do better, and hopefully we can get the margins on our side. "We haven't scored a goal or got the wins we have wanted. "It is tough but we need to show it. "Things can happen qucikly in football and we need to turn it around. "We have the quality and the character now we need to show it." Aberdeen were knocked out of the Premier Sports Cup by Motherwell at home last weekend. The Dons will head south looking to make amends in the league and that defeat to Dundee United. “We played them last week,” he stated. “We know how they want to play and we’ve seen that in their games this season. “They have a style of play which we know, although they might make changes but you never know. “I think we will be well prepared."
