Aldi has launched a new treat to their freezer section and while many shoppers have been quick to call the item "delicious", others have suggested they don't live up to some alternatives. The supermarket has recently launched new bake from frozen Portuguese Custard Tarts to their freezer aisles. The new treats, priced at £2.29, come in packs of four and require shoppers to bake the tarts for around 20 minutes before eating. After being released, Aldi's frozen Portuguese Custard Tarts appear to already be going down well with many shoppers, with some even calling them the "best". A second shopper, Chantelle Roets, also wrote: "They are delicious. Went back and bought more." As a third, Jennifer Elizabeth Jones, added: "Bought these today from freezer section amazing." However some shoppers have suggested that Aldi's Portuguese Custard Tarts have firm competition. One shopper, Pam Fenna, wrote: "You can't beat the fresh ones at Lidl. But worth a go." Another shopper, Kathryn Baldwin, added: "Lidl does these and they are gorgeous." However another, Warren Jay, wrote: "I had these out of the freezer in Lidl (the bakery was sold out) and after returning from Lisbon a couple of days can confirm nothing beats the real thing." Aldi has also caught the attention of shoppers with the launch of other popular desserts in recent weeks. The supermarket recently launched its new Hazel Nut-Cracker dessert ready for Christmas and shoppers have already been taking to social media to say the treat is "too good to share". The store also launched their limited-edition Cake Sandwich earlier this month and shoppers were quick to say they "want to try" the new treat.
