Residents living in Chicago's popular River North neighborhood will soon have another option for grocery shopping. ALDI, the Batavia-based discount supermarket retailer, is scheduled to open its newest store along Huron Street near Dearborn Street on Thursday, a spokesperson said in a news release. The location will open its doors to the public at 8:20 a.m., when a grand opening celebration commences. To mark the occasion, the first 100 customers will receive a gift bag filled with ALDI-exclusive products and a gift card as part of the ALDI Golden Ticket giveaway program, the news release stated. The new location will offer exclusive brands, a weekly lineup of limited time ALDI Finds, organic meats, fresh produce delivered daily and "food for every taste and lifestyle," the chain stated. ALDI has over a dozen of locations across Chicago, including on the city's North, West and South sides, plus many more in the suburbs and northwest Indiana. The store along Huron Street will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. This store opening brings ALDI a step closer to achieving its goal of opening 800 stores nationwide by the end of 2028, the company said.
