Aldi, Lidl and Home Bargains issue urgent recall for five sweet treats amid 'health risks'

Major supermarkets have released urgent product recalls on five popular sweet treats this week due to the Food Standards Agency highlighting " health risks " in certain products. Budget supermarket rivals Lidl and Aldi, as well as Home Bargains, are urging customers to return the items to their local stores for a refund if they have recently purchased one of these treats to snack on in their free time. Many popular snacks have been pulled off the shelves this week as the Food Standard Agency (FSA) have found possible contamination or undeclared allergens on specific dated products. One item was even raised as a health risk as the important allergen information was not listed in English, reports the Express. If you have recently bought any of the below items in your shopping recently, retailers are urging shoppers to check the dates and advisories on these products, and to not consume the food if it is impacted by the product recalls. Aldi has released a precautionary recall on its Dairyfine Crispy Choc Um's after the treat was found to potentially contain peanuts, which could pose a serious health risk to anyone with a peanut allergy. All dates of this chocolate treat are impacted, with a pack size of 121g. The FSA shared: "If you have bought the above product and have an allergy to peanuts, do not eat it. Instead, return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund." Aldi is also taking the PYB02 PANATAS Part-Baked six-pack custard tarts off its shelves due to not having important allergen information on the packaging. The custard tarts contain egg, milk, wheat (gluten), as well as potentially hazelnuts, sesame and soya. None of these allergens appear on the labelling, which makes it a possible health hazard to anyone with these allergies or suffer from coeliac disease . All dates are once again impacted, with Aldi advising shoppers who have recently bought the treats to not eat them and instead return the tarts to their nearest store for a refund. Rose's Halloween Spooky Tea Cakes, which are stocked in Aldi and Lidl , have been recalled due to some dates being mispackaged with Rose Orchard Tea Cakes - which contain eggs. The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) stated: "The above batches of Rose Halloween Spooky Tea Cakes were mispacked with Rose Orchard Tea Cakes. The product contains egg, which is not mentioned on the label. "This may make the implicated batches unsafe for consumers who are allergic to or intolerant of eggs, and therefore, these consumers should not eat the implicated batches. The affected batches are being recalled." All of the below best-before dates should be returned to a local store: Due to not having allergen information labelled in English on its packaging, retailer TJ Morris is removing three flavours of the Milka chocolate bars from its Home Bargain shelves - Milka Hazelnut, Milka Whole Nut and Milka Oreo Brownie. The agency stated: "This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents, an allergy to hazelnuts (nuts) and/or soya, and/or an allergy or intolerance to wheat or gluten, or with coeliac disease. The affected products were sold by TJ Morris at Home Bargains." The impacted chocolate bars are: Lidl has announced that shoppers need to immediately return any impacted GB XXL Sondey Stroopwaffel with Caramel Flavour Filling & Butter to their local store as the item may contain small metal fragments. These fragments make the treat unsafe to eat and creates a potential health hazard for shoppers if accidentally consumed. Shoppers will receive a full refund when they return the product to their local Lidl store. The product dates affected are
