The Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board is holding another drawing for chances to win places in line to buy highly-sought brands of whiskey. The Alabama ABC Select Spirits 2025 Limited Release Sweepstakes will pick 150 winners who will have a reserved place in line at each of the eight ABC stores participating in the event, set for Dec. 13. Alabama’s allocation of Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon and other limited-quantity whiskeys will be offered. Residents of legal drinking age can enter the sweepstakes until Oct. 26 at 11:59 p.m. Names will be drawn Oct. 27, and people who entered will receive emails or texts notifying them of the results on Oct. 29. Winning a place in line does not guarantee any specific product. Participants must present a valid Alabama driver’s license to buy the allocated items. The sweepstakes is also open to active military stationed in Alabama who are at least 21 and can provide proof that they live in the state. Alabama residents of legal drinking age who do not win a spot in line can participate in a walk-up line. They will be allowed to enter the store in the order in which they arrived after sweepstakes winners have completed their purchases. The eight ABC stores participating in the 2025 Sweepstakes are: ABC Store #04 – 1199 S. Donahue Dr., Auburn ABC Store #53 – 8115 Hwy. 72 West, Madison ABC Store #55 – 201 Rele St., Mountain Brook ABC Store #67 – 160 Baldwin Sq., Fairhope ABC Store #87 – 5832 Hwy. 90 West, Theodore ABC Store #102 – 3420 McFarland Blvd. East, Tuscaloosa ABC Store #175 – 2786 Eastern Blvd., Montgomery ABC Store #185 – 1641 Ashville Rd., Leeds Items will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis and will not be reserved or placed on hold. The public is not allowed on ABC store property before 8 a.m. when on-site registration opens for sweepstakes winners and walk-up line participants. Participants will be required to vacate the property until their assigned shopping time to help ensure a safe shopping environment.
