Akron Children’s Hospital opens first pediatric primary care in Cuyahoga Falls

AKRON, Ohio – Akron Children’s Hospital is opening its first pediatric primary care location in Cuyahoga Falls at 1625 Portage Trail.
Akron Children’s Pediatrics Cuyahoga Falls combines two existing independent Pediatrics of Akron offices–one on the Akron hospital campus and one in Cuyahoga Falls, according to a news release. The new office will open on Sept. 30 and underscores Akron Children’s aim to provide quality, family centered care in an underserved market.
Office highlights include 20 exam rooms, ample parking and access to the hospital’s network of pediatric specialists, according to the release.
“Patients who were previously with Pediatrics of Akron will automatically transition to become Akron Children’s Pediatrics patients without needing to transfer records or re-establish care,” Akron Children’s Senior Director of Primary Care and School Health Brad Cunningham said in the release. “We are excited that patients can remain with their trusted providers and confident the enhanced facilities and convenient access to Akron Children’s broader network of specialty providers and services will be an asset to patients.”
In addition to serving existing Pediatrics of Akron patients, the practice is accepting new pediatric patients, according to the release.
The new office is located a few blocks from the new Cuyahoga Falls Middle/High School, which is slated to open in January of 2026–making it a convenient healthcare option for families.
