Ajith Kumar Says He Left India To Escape Noise: ‘Dubai Helps Me Focus On Motorsports’

South superstar Ajith Kumar has been enjoying his dual career as an actor and as a motorsport racer. After being in the limelight for decades, the Good, the Bad and the Ugly star revealed he likes to stay away from noise and people as much as possible, and hence, he left India for Dubai. During an interview with Anupama Chopra, the actor opened up about his decision to stay in Dubai and his habit of avoiding entourages. Ajith Kumar Opens Up About Moving To Dubai The 54-year-old actor shared that he prefers to stay away from the limelight and noise whenever it is possible and likes to do everything by himself without the help of staff. “I moved to Dubai for that reason. To stay away from all the noise, I am primarily here for motorsports, as the major circuits happen here. It is helping me. I am having to do everything by myself, and I am loving it,” Ajith shared. Talking about his decision not to have entourages, the actor revealed, “If you had met with me 20 years ago, you would have probably hated me. It wasn’t that I was spoiled. I probably had an entourage of people. It makes life difficult.” He further explained, “The more people you have around you, the more things you have to deal with. I felt like I was wasting a lot of time trying to sort out the day-to-day squabbles between them. You kind of seek help for people to look after you.” The actor also shared that his upbringing has played a key role in this decision. “I come from a very middle-class family. I had wonderful parents who were way ahead of their time, so I guess we were brought up to do things on our own. We were taught cooking at the age of seven or eight,” he shared. Ajith Kumar On The Rise In Entourage Costs Of Actors During the interview, Ajith Kumar shared that he believes there has been an exponential rise in the entourage costs of actors. “In a recent interview, Farah Khan spoke about how actors often have multiple vanity vans on a set, often for their chefs and as a gym,” he shared, explaining that in the entertainment industry, especially in Bollywood, filmmakers often complain about how entourage costs increase the cost of filmmaking. He also pointed out that he thinks having entourages is perfectly fine if they save time for some stars and make their lives easier.
