Ajith Kumar and Thalapathy Vijay are Tamil cinema’s two biggest icons with a massive fan following. Despite the mutual respect that they have maintained for years, their fandoms often lock horns, creating endless debates over who is the bigger star. Not long ago, rumours surfaced claiming that Ajith wasn’t pleased about Vijay’s political ambitions. Now, the Good Bad Ugly actor has finally broken his silence, putting all the speculations to rest. In a recent audio interview with Rangaraj Pandey, Ajith addressed the long-standing buzz about his so-called rivalry with Vijay. He said, “Some are making things up and creating a misconception about Vijay and me, resulting in fans clashing with each other. It’s better if these miscreants remain quiet… I have always wished well for Vijay.” Ajith further requested fans to stay away from online fights and instead, focus on building a happy life for themselves. He added, “It’s better if everyone focuses on their families and leads a happy life.” Interestingly, this isn’t the first time Ajith’s side has spoken about his bond with Vijay. Earlier this year, Ajith’s manager Suresh Chandra also clarified that there is no rivalry between the two megastars. He revealed that Vijay was among the first to congratulate Ajith after his racing victory and his Padma Bhushan honour. Chandra clarified, “Vijay was among the first to congratulate Ajith Sir on his racing victory. Similarly, when the Padma Bhushan award was announced, Vijay Sir also congratulated him. Both share a genuine and heartfelt friendship. So, there is no truth to the claim that Vijay Sir didn’t extend his wishes.” Ajith Kumar’s Next Ajith Kumar is currently focusing on his passion for racing and preparing for his next film, tentatively titled AK64. The project is expected to be officially announced in January 2026. Director Adhik Ravichandran, who is set to helm the film, recently confirmed in a statement that AK64 will be a full-scale action entertainer designed to appeal to all kinds of audiences. Adding to the buzz, reports also suggest that Ajith may collaborate with hitmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj for a film tentatively titled AK65. Although an official confirmation is still awaited, fans are already excited about the possible combination. Thalapathy Vijay’s Final Film On the other hand, Thalapathy Vijay will next be seen in the highly anticipated political action drama Jana Nayagan, directed by H Vinoth. The film, set to release on January 9, 2026, during Pongal, is said to be Vijay’s final outing before he fully dives into politics. The movie features Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Priyamani and Gautham Vasudev Menon in key roles, with music composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
