Airtel, TCS Decline While SBI, LIC Gain: Top 10 Indian Firms’ Valuation Update; Check Details

Last week, the Indian equity market faced a mixed trend in a holiday-shortened trading week, leading to a notable erosion in the combined valuation of seven of the top-10 most valued companies. Overall, the BSE benchmark fell by 722.43 points, or 0.86 per cent, while the Nifty slipped 229.8 points, or 0.89 per cent, reflecting caution among investors amid market volatility. Bharti Airtel And TCS Lead Losses Bharti Airtel’s market capitalisation dropped sharply by Rs 30,506.26 crore, bringing its valuation down to Rs 11,41,048.30 crore. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) also witnessed a significant decline of Rs 23,680.38 crore, with its market cap settling at Rs 10,82,658.42 crore. Other companies facing valuation losses included Hindustan Unilever, which dipped Rs 12,253.12 crore to Rs 5,67,308.81 crore, Reliance Industries, down Rs 11,164.29 crore to Rs 20,00,437.77 crore, and HDFC Bank, which decreased by Rs 7,303.93 crore to Rs 15,11,375.21 crore. Infosys and ICICI Bank saw smaller declines of Rs 2,139.52 crore and Rs 1,587.78 crore, respectively. Gainers In The Top-10 List Not all companies in the top 10 were affected by the negative trend. The State Bank of India’s market capitalisation rose by Rs 17,492.02 crore to Rs 8,82,400.89 crore, while Bajaj Finance climbed Rs 14,965.08 crore to Rs 6,63,721.32 crore. Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) added Rs 18,469 crore to its valuation, reaching Rs 5,84,366.54 crore. These gains provided some offset to the broader market losses. Ranking Of Most Valued Firms Despite the weekly fluctuations, Reliance Industries continues to hold its position as the most valued domestic firm, followed by HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel, TCS, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, Bajaj Finance, Infosys, LIC, and Hindustan Unilever. The contrasting performance among these top companies highlights the uneven recovery and sectoral rotation in the market amid a short trading week. The week’s market movement underscores investor caution and demonstrates how individual companies can diverge sharply in performance, even within the top-10 valuation pack.
