Air Canada has unveiled a special livery to celebrate the release of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ "Zootopia 2," which is coming to theaters later this month. One of the carrier's Airbus A220-300 aircraft, which it now calls "Fin 138," was chosen to sport the new livery and will be busy flying across Air Canada's North American network in the coming weeks. This is the third Disney-themed aircraft livery that Air Canada has rolled out, following similar initiatives during the release of "Wish" and "Turning Red." Lucky Aeroplan members also stand the chance to win one of two all-inclusive packages to Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. Air Canada's New Zootopia 2 Livery Zootopia 2 is the sequel to the 2016 animated feature Zootopia and is being released almost a decade after the original. To commemorate the occasion, Air Canada has painted one of its Airbus A220 aircraft in a vibrant livery featuring the upcoming Disney movie's colorful anthropomorphic cast. The family-friendly movie opens in theaters on November 26 and stars the voices of Ginnifer Goodwin, Jason Bateman and Ke Huy Quan, along with several notable co-stars, including Shakira and Idris Elba. This marks the third time Air Canada has adorned one of its planes with a Disney movie livery. The first aircraft — unveiled in early 2022 — was also an A220 and was repainted with a livery for the joint Disney and Pixar movie "Turning Red." Its second effort - this time painted on one of its Boeing 787 Dreamliners - was rolled out in November 2023 and was inspired by the fantasy musical "Wish," which was released during Disney's centenary celebrations. Andy Shibata, Vice President, Brand at Air Canada, commented, "This special livery is an exciting addition to our broader Disney relationship. It reminds us that travel, like storytelling, is about imagination, connection, and a little bit of magic." Flying Through North America According to the airline, Fin 138 will be spotted flying to several high-profile destinations across Canada and the United States, including Boston (BOS), Denver (DEN), Los Angeles (LAX), Montreal (YUL), New York LaGuardia (LGA), Ottawa (YOW), Toronto (YYZ), and Vancouver (YVR). The aircraft was delivered to Air Canada less than three months ago and entered service in September — data from Flightradar24 shows the aircraft recently completed a roundtrip service from Montreal to Nassau and will be flying to and from Los Angeles and Vancouver over the next couple of days. Members of Air Canada's Aeroplan loyalty program also stand a chance to win one of the two grand prizes on offer. Winners will get a vacation package to Walt Disney World Resort for up to four people, including a five-night stay at the world-famous resort in Orlando, Florida. The park is launching a new 4D show titled 'Zootopia: Better Zoogether About Air Canada's A220 Fleet Air Canada is closing in on six years of A220 operations since welcoming its first delivery in December 2019. The Canadian carrier completed its debut A220 revenue flight in January 2020, becoming the first North American operator and has since flown the A220 to over 70 destinations. It will also be the launch airline for Airbus' new A220 'Airspace' cabin, which will equip its new A220s from 2026 onwards. The airline made an initial commitment for 45 A220s (when it was still marketed as the CS300) in 2016 before boosting its order by another 15 airframes in 2022. It would then place an order for five more aircraft, taking its total commitment with Airbus to 65 A220s. Air Canada configures its A220-300s with two cabin classes, seating up to 137 passengers across 12 business class and 125 economy seats. Air Canada operates the world's fifth-largest A220-300 fleet. The type has proven popular in the North American market, with the likes of Breeze Airways, Delta Air Lines and JetBlue also boasting sizable A220 fleets.
