This divide extends further into investment. Younger generations are keen to increase investment in AI tools and services over the next 12 months: 59% of Gen Z and 55% of millennials, compared to only 35% of Gen X and 25% of boomers. This proactive stance among the next generation of business leaders isn’t just about adoption rates — it reflects differing sentiments on AI’s overall impact. A striking 89% of Gen Z and millennial small business owners who already use AI report its positive impact. For these younger generations, AI isn’t just a tool. It is becoming a strategic advantage. This contrasts with older generations slightly, with 74% of Gen X respondents reporting that AI has a positive impact, and 59% among boomers. Notably, Gen X (25%) and boomers (36%) have a higher percentage of owners who remain undecided on its overall impact.
