Should AI be used in sports? – AI isn’t just taking over your phone or your workplace, it’s stepping into the world of sports. From robot umpires in baseball, to analytics that predict a player’s every move, artificial intelligence is changing the way we watch, play, and even coach sports.
Is AI the future we want, or are we losing the human touch that makes sports exciting? Friends of “Live In The D,” Jason Hall with Ride Detroit and Comedian Dave Mishevitz, stopped by the show to give their take on the topic.
“I think what we forget is this is all entertainment. It’s all theater. So, when you take the fun out of it, the part of the fun is watching the umpire argue with the manager because the call was wrong,” said Hall. He said it feels weird to take away that human interaction.
“Yeah, you want that drama to be in there, but you still don’t know what’s going to happen, especially in sports,” Mishevitz said.
