On the 28th, Cataris, a developer of AI agents for the chemical industry, announced that it has raised ¥50 million in a seed round with CyberAgent Capital and ANOBAKA as underwriters. This capital increase will further strengthen product development and organizational structure. The company offers a service that automatically generates new applications and improvement directions through AI agents by cross-analyzing material data, academic papers, and patent information, centered on its “Material Profiling AI Platform.” By replacing areas traditionally reliant on researchers’ experience and personalized sales with data-driven approaches, Cataris aims to achieve both exploration speed and proposal reproducibility. With its proprietary implementation of property prediction tools and ontology technology, Cataris can mechanically process the last mile of “Material to Market,” which is primarily centered on unstructured data. In demonstrations, verification has been conducted on approximately 10 materials, with reports of identifying new applications in about 50% of the traditional development and proposal period. The funds raised will be allocated to improving the accuracy of the AI agent, expanding the Material Profiling AI Platform, and hiring personnel.
