AHS names Sheridan Glashan Stenbeck as new head softball coach

Austin Daily Herald sports@austindailyherald.com Austin High School has announced the hiring of Sheridan Stenbeck as the school’s new head softball coach. Stenbeck brings with her a background as both a standout collegiate athlete and a mentor to young people. In addition to her coaching role, she is serving as a school counselor for the Alternative Learning Center and Austin Online Academy. A 2018 graduate of Forest Lake High School, Stenbeck earned All-Conference honors and the Spotlight on Scholarship Award throughout her prep career, along with being named Offensive MVP while competing with the Minnesota Moose Fastpitch program. Following high school, Stenbeck went on to play softball at the College of Saint Benedict “We are thrilled to welcome coach Stenbeck to the Austin Packers athletic family,” said Katie Carter, Activities Director. “Her playing experience, softball knowledge, and positive energy will make an immediate impact on our athletes and program culture. She understands what it takes to compete, but more importantly, she understands how to teach, inspire, and connect with student-athletes.” Stenbeck follows Lisa Lage, who has been the Packers head coach for the past several seasons. “I’m truly honored to step into this role and carry forward the proud tradition of our softball program,” Stenbeck said. “My goal is to create an environment where our athletes can thrive — not only by developing their skills on the field, but by growing as leaders, teammates, and confident young women. I want our players to walk away from this program with lessons that go far beyond the game.”
