Agyemang-Badu tips Kwasi Sibo for big future with Black Stars

Former Ghana international Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has backed Kwasi Sibo to develop into a key figure for the Black Stars, following the midfielder’s impressive debut against Mali in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The Real Oviedo man earned his first cap during Ghana’s 1-0 victory over the Eagles at the Accra Sports Stadium in September, where his composed display drew widespread praise.

Agyemang-Badu, a 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup winner and long-serving Black Stars midfielder, lauded Sibo’s qualities in an interview with Graphic Sports:

“Sibo is a very solid player with a lot of promise. Honestly, he can’t match the power and energy I brought to the team in my time,” he joked, “but he has qualities that suit the modern game.

I like his composure, ball distribution and discipline. With the right guidance, he can become a big name for the Black Stars.”

Sibo, 25, is already enjoying a strong start to the season with Oviedo, having played a pivotal role in their promotion push and featuring in three La Liga games so far this campaign.

The midfielder has also expressed his determination to cement a regular place in the national team as Ghana aim to book a ticket to their fifth World Cup.
