Arsenal are closing in on securing new long-term contracts for two of their star players in William Saliba and Bukayo Saka, and Declan Rice should be next on their list of priorities.
After an impressive summer transfer window, which saw Andrea Berta and his team bring in a host of new additions to help build Mikel Arteta’s squad, focus has now shifted to extending the contracts of some of their current crop of players. GIVEMESPORT sources have confirmed that Arsenal have reached an agreement to extend the contract of French defender Saliba, while they are also looking to tie down Saka, who has made it clear that he’s keen on staying at the Emirates Stadium.
With the window closed, it’s an opportunity for the Gunners to assess their squad and work out who they want to keep around for the long term. Arsenal are in no immediate danger of losing anyone, with no player out of contract in 2026, so it’s all about looking to extend players with longer contracts.
Arsenal Must Now Tie Down Declan Rice to New Contract
With Saliba and Saka on the agenda to tie down at the Emirates Stadium, Berta and his team will be considering who to offer a new contract to next, and the obvious answer is Rice. Although the England international still has a contract until 2028, it will be a real statement of intent from the Gunners to extend the aforementioned trio all within the space of a few months, signalling their ambition to continue going to the next level.
When trying to attract new players, whether that be in the January or summer transfer window, it’s a selling point for Arsenal to offer to potential new additions. Three of Arsenal’s best players showing their commitment to the club shows how much of a good environment it is internally, and that could be a difference maker when trying to bring in new talent.
