The African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat, in collaboration with the Black Star Experience (BSE) Secretariat and Africa Tourism Partners (ATP), is set to host the launch of Creatives Connect Afrika 2025, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at harnessing the power of creativity and culture to advance Africa's economic integration. The Lagos launch event, scheduled for Friday, October 31, 2025, at the Mövenpick Ikoyi Lagos Hotel, will bring together policymakers, creative entrepreneurs, tourism professionals, and cultural institutions to explore opportunities emerging under the AfCFTA Protocol on Trade in Services. Unlocking Africa's Creative Potential The Creatives Connect Afrika 2025 initiative seeks to amplify Africa's creative and tourism potential, deepen intra-African linkages, and promote sustainable growth in high-impact sectors such as fashion, film, and music. These industries are key drivers of youth and women's empowerment across the continent. A Platform for Economic Diversification The Lagos launch will spotlight how creative trade can serve as a catalyst for economic diversification, cultural exchange, and inclusive development under the AfCFTA framework. The event will also unveil the thematic focus of Creatives Connect Afrika 2025, mobilize stakeholder participation, and foster cross-sectoral collaboration in the lead-up to the main event. The Creatives Connect Afrika Forum and Festival will take place from November 24-26, 2025, at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra, Ghana. The event is expected to bring together industry leaders, policymakers, and creative entrepreneurs from across the continent to discuss the future of Africa's creative and tourism industries. A Commitment to Africa's Economic Integration By hosting this pivotal activation in Lagos, a city celebrated for its creative dynamism and leadership in film, fashion, and music, the AfCFTA Secretariat underscores its commitment to harnessing the power of creativity and culture to advance Africa's economic integration. The Creatives Connect Afrika 2025 initiative is a significant step towards unlocking Africa's creative potential and promoting sustainable growth and development across the continent.
