AEW was not interested in signing me, claims former WWE champion

A former WWE champion stirred the pot after claiming they approached AEW, but the Jacksonville-based promotion was not interested in signing them. That star is Enzo Amore, a former two-time WWE Cruiserweight Champion who left the Stamford-based promotion after serious allegations in 2018. After departing WWE, Amore competed in many promotions, including Ring of Honor, NJPW, and Impact Wrestling, but he never worked for the Jacksonville-based promotion. Now, The Real1 (an alias he adopted when he started his rap career) has revealed why he never worked with Tony Khan's promotion, stating that the company showed no interest in him.Speaking in an interview with No-Contest Wrestling, the 38-year-old said that he considered All Elite Wrestling but was declined by them, and also threw shade at how the promotion was underutilizing his former tag team partner in WWE, Big Bill (fka Big Cass). “AEW was something that I considered. I reached out. They had no interest.... I’ll wait for you guys to do something with Big Bill who’s seven feet tall and should be beating the sht out of all of you,” said Real1 [H/T:RingsideNews]Check out the interview below:Enzo Amore has taken digs at AEW in the pastInterestingly, his interview with No-Context Wrestling wasn't the first time Enzo mentioned All Elite Wrestling, as earlier this year, the Real1 took major shots at the promotion. In a scathing promo he posted on Instagram, the certified-G, while standing in front of MetLife Stadium, ranted about how All Elite Wrestling never produced a real star."I’m here at S***life Stadium, but it could be worse. I could be in an empty parking lot like AEW. Actually, I could be in the used car parking lot called AEW, where a star has never been born."Check out his post on Instagram here. There appears to be a lot of tension between Real1 and All Elite Wrestling, and it's unlikely that Enzo will be signing with Tony Khan's promotion anytime soon. However, wrestling is a funny business, and you can never rule out anything.
