AEW Star Chris Jericho Reunites With Popular WWE Star

With speculation about All Elite Wrestling star Chris Jericho returning to WWE for a retirement tour, a new photo has surfaced to send fans into a frenzy. A recent hockey game provided the setting for a reunion between Jericho and his former best friend and WWE tag partner, Kevin Owens. The two were famously friends, then feuded in a series of big matches before Jericho left for Tony Khan’s AEW. The two wrestling stars were all smiles in the stands for a selfie. Their photo also generated buzz among fans, who shared the comments from an X photo via WrestlingPurists. “OMG! Is that what I think it means?” one fan commented. “They’re still friends even after the List of KO?” another fan wrote on X. “Yeah he’s definitely coming back to the WWE soon,” a fan said in the comments. During his last run in WWE from 2016 to 2017, Jericho and Owens became allies. Jericho also started his famous list known as “The List of Jericho.” Owens ultimately turned against Jericho during a “Festival of Friendship,” and the two feuded, trading wins in big matches, including WrestleMania 33, where Owens defeated Jericho for the United States Championship. Despite Jericho winning the title back and going to SmackDown, he then lost it again to Owens. After the match, Owens attacked Jericho, causing him to get carried out on a stretcher. That also was Jericho’s WWE write-off from television, allowing him to tour with his band Fozzy and promote their new album. Rumors have persisted about a WWE comeback, just as John Cena is bidding farewell to fans on his retirement tour. According to Wrestling Inc., he last appeared in AEW in April as part of The Learning Tree stable. After Bryan Keith and Big Bill lost, Jericho lost it and told them he felt it was best for him to leave. That prompted Jericho to storm off backstage, get into a car, and drive away. Fans are now hopeful that the recent reunion involving Jericho and Owens in Florida is a sign of things to come for WWE in the upcoming months or early next year. Jericho signed a three-year deal with AEW in 2022, suggesting his contract ends this year. Ringside News’ Steve Carrier cites a Fightful Select report that WWE will offer Jericho “several million dollars annually” to return, due to heavy interest in him from various promotions.
