Adventist Healthcare Professionals meet to review performance

The Executive Director of the Christian Health Association of Ghana (CHAG), Dr. Peter Yeboah, has stressed that effective healthcare delivery requires leaders who are committed to responsibility, accountability, and the welfare of the people they serve.

According to him, service in healthcare goes beyond providing care, it is about true leadership, embracing stewardship, and ensuring the wellbeing of all. He therefore called on government and health professionals to collaborate effectively to guarantee quality healthcare delivery for every Ghanaian.

Dr. Yeboah made these remarks at the opening ceremony of the 8th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Ghana Adventist Health Services (GAHS), held at Elmina in the Komenda Edina Eguafo Abirem District of the Central Region.

The meeting, which has been held annually since 2017, brought together about one hundred senior managers of the Adventist Health Services. It provided a platform to review performance, share experiences, and make suggestions for improving healthcare delivery in the country.

Dr. Yeboah further urged health professionals to remain committed to their work regardless of the challenges, while also calling on the public to respect health workers. He emphasized that leaders must ensure that the needs of health professionals are adequately met in order to improve performance.

“The call to service in healthcare must reflect compassion, integrity, and a strong sense of mission, so that health institutions can meet the needs of all communities across the country,” he said.

The President of the Mid Ghana Union Conference of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Pastor Annor Boahen, also reminded participants that health is central to the church’s mission and must reflect compassion and integrity. He added that healthcare is not just a profession, but a sacred calling rooted in compassion, dedication, and service to humanity.

The Municipal Chief Executive for Komenda Edina Eguafo Abirem, Ismail Zagon-Saeed, pledged the Assembly’s support for faith-based health institutions in improving healthcare delivery for Ghanaians.

The Annual General Meeting was attended by about one hundred senior managers of the Ghana Adventist Health Services.
