Ghanaian journalist Okyeame Amoako Darkwa, who was with he Multimedia Group Limited has died The sudden news of the seasoned broadcast journalist’s passing surfaced online on September 15, 2025His death has thrown his colleagues including Kofi Adoma Nwanwani into a state of gloom

Ghanaian media personality Okyeame Amoako Darkwa of Adom FM and Adom TV has passed away.

Reports indicate that seasoned journalist died on Thursday, September 15, 2025 after a tiresome health battle.

Amoako Darkwa has worn various hats in the journalism industry from reporting to broadcasting across the country.

Many would recall his time on Adom TV’s political and current affairs programme Badwam.

Amoako Darkwa was once a morning show host at Takorad- based radio station, Kyzz FM and the Operations Manager at Good News FM. He also worked as the head of Programmes at Shaft FM in Obuasi.

In 2017, his efforts contributed to the arrest of nine illegal minning suspects including five Chinese and four Ghanaians in the Western region as reported by ModernGhana.

Amoako Darkwa was part of a combined security force which interrupted illegal mining activity in the Ankobrah River.

Kofi Adoma Nwanwani mourns Okyeame Amoako Darkwa

Renowned multimedia journalist Kofi Adoma Nwanwani has reacted to the death of Okyeame Amoako Darkwa.

On September 17, 2025, Kofi Adoma took to social media to express the hurt over his loss saying,

“Indeed this world is a stage where we come and play our part and leave after we are done. The news of your death has made me speechless. Rest well Okyeame Amoako Darkwa.”

The late Amoako Darkwa appeared to be a personal friend to Kofi Adoma Nwanwani.

Several photos of them on the field working together many years ago have surfaced on social media.

DJ Awana passes away after short illness

Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that DJ Awana passed away while on admission at the 37 Military Hospital on Sunday, April 6, 2025.

The disc jockey, who worked with the Multimedia Group, had been seeking treatment at the hospital after he fell ill.

Many Ghanaians, including DJ Awana’s colleagues, took to social media to mourn his untimely passing.
