Adam Pally's New Special Sets HBO Premiere Date

EXCLUSIVE: Comedian and actor Adam Pally (Happy Endings) is set to debut his first-ever comedy special, An Intimate Evening with Adam Pally, on HBO at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on Friday, October 17.
In the special, which is said to be equal parts stand-up, documentary, and rock concert, Pally plays with the truth — and his guitar — in a one-time-only performance. It will also be available to stream on HBO Max.
The special, written and performed by Pally, is directed by Brent Hodge, who also exec produced alongside Greg Walter, Trevor Rotenberg, Luke Dillon, and Conrad Whelan. Check out a trailer from HBO above.
In a statement to Deadline, Pally said, “The special was made out of a deep desire to make something, anything, anything at all, and I couldn’t be prouder of it and grateful to HBO for giving me an incredible platform to make people laugh, play music, and tell some bubbameisters.”
Added Nina Rosenstein, HBO’s EVP overseeing late night and specials, “Working with Adam has been a real treat. His special is emblematic of everything we love about him – it’s so funny, endlessly charming, and a little bit unpredictable, in the best possible way.”
Boasting over 100 credits as an actor, Pally is perhaps best known for his role as Max Blum on the cult favorite ABC comedy Happy Endings, for which he earned a Critics’ Choice Television Award nomination. He also starred in The Mindy Project, opposite Mindy Kaling, with additional appearances in the Sonic the Hedgehog films and spinoff series Knuckles, Peacock’s Mr. Throwback, on which he was co-creator and EP, and much more.
Recently, Pally launched Staying Alive, a comedic health and wellness podcast co-hosted with Jon Gabrus — the longtime friend and collaborator with whom he previously co-hosted the truTV series 101 Places to Party Before You Die. Additional and upcoming film and television credits include O Horizon, Who Invited Charlie?, FUBAR, and Run.
Pally is repped by UTA, 3 Arts Entertainment, and Del Shaw Moonves.
