A spokesman for SPS said: “We need professional, capable and motivated individuals who reflect Scotland’s diversity to deliver effective and efficient activities and services.
“Whatever SPS profession you embark upon, you will be a valued member of the team, helping us build a Safer Scotland for the communities we serve. We are committed to your personal and professional development and offer a wide range of career progression opportunities.”
What’s expected
The new recruits will be required to work on-call hours and may need to travel to other establishments and areas.
For this reason, a full driving licence that enables the person to drive in the UK is preferred. SPS is willing to consider proposals put forward by applicants to carry out the duties by any other means.
While these roles require commitment and dedication, they also come with numerous benefits such as an attractive civil service pension scheme, commitment to personal and professional development, 34 days of annual leave – rising to 42 and free on-site gym and car parking.
You will also receive an employee assistance programme with sick pay, all tools and PPE provided, and discounts at high-street stores, supermarkets, and restaurants through partners like Blue Light Card, Edenred, and Civil Service Sports Council.
The SPS employs around 5,000 staff across its prisons, headquarters, college, and training and storage facility at Fauldhouse.
They value the professional, capable and motivated individuals who reflect Scotland’s diversity. By joining the SPS, staff will contribute to building a Safer Scotland for the communities it serves.
They offer a wide range of career progression opportunities and are committed to your personal and professional development.
