Actress dead at 23 after fighting same rare disease that country music icon has

The entertainment world was heartbroken to learn last week of popular young actress, Isabelle Tate. She was just 23. Tate recently appeared in the pilot episode of “9-1-1” Nashville.” “We are deeply saddened and completely heartbroken to share that Isabelle Tate passed away on October 19th,” McCray Agency, which represented her, wrote on Facebook. “I’ve known Izzy since she was a teenager and she recently returned to acting. She booked the first series she auditioned for, 9-1-1 Nashville. She had a wonderful time. “My heart goes out to her wonderful mother @katerinataterealtor, her sister Daniella, family and friends,” the statement added. “I was so lucky to know her and she will be greatly missed by so many.” What could have taken her at such a young age? Well, her agency told Entertainment Weekly that Tate died from “a rare form of Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease.” If that disease sounds familiar it might be because it is the same disease that country music legend Alan Jackson is battling. It is a chronic neuropathy condition that affects a person’s balance and ability to walk, and it apparently runs in his family. TV Insider reported that Tate revealed in 2022 on Instagram that she was diagnosed with a “progressive neuromuscular disease” when she was just 13. “Recently, it’s really progressed and I’ve come to terms that if I want to live my lie to the fullest I need to use a wheelchair at times,” she wrote then. “This has been a difficult journey for me because having to accept help and surrender to the progression of this condition has been extremely hard.” Jackson, who has his final live show planned for next year, retired from touring earlier this year, in part, due to his fight with the disease. “Most of my fans know I have a degenerative health condition that affects my legs and arms and my mobility that I got from my daddy and it’s getting worse,” he told fans when in 2024 when he announced his farewell tour. “So, it makes me more uncomfortable on stage, and I just have a hard time, and I just want to think about maybe calling it quits before I’m unable to do the job like I want to.”
