ACC cancels Pakistan vs UAE match after PCB’s drama? Social media activity creates chaos
Did the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) just confirm the cancellation of the Asia Cup 2025 match between the Pakistan National Cricket Team and the UAE National Cricket Team?
A surprising social media activity of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) regarding the Pakistan vs United Arab Emirates (UAE) game has created further chaos in the tournament.
Pakistan vs UAE clash is a virtual knockout
The Salman Agha-led Pakistan are scheduled to take on the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the 10th match of the Asia Cup 2025 at the Dubai International Stadium on Wednesday, September 17.
The United Arab Emirates have got a poor head-to-head record against the Men In Green as they are yet to register a victory against them in the T20I format.
Pakistan have won all three matches they have competed against the United Arab Emirates, including the one in the Asia Cup 2016 and two recent victories in the Tri-series.
Meanwhile, the match between the Group A teams is supposed to be a virtual knockout as the winning team between the UAE and Pakistan will progress further to the Super Four stage.
The India National Cricket Team have already qualified for the Super Fours, and Oman have already faced an elimination.
ACC deletes its social media post about the Pakistan vs UAE game
The Asia Cup 2025 has been heated up since the match between arch-rivals India and Pakistan, not because of the game itself, but because of the controversies surrounding it.
During the match, the Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav denied shaking hands with Salman Agha at the toss, and after destroying poor Pakistan, the Men In Blue didn’t come out for customary post-match handshakes.
Pakistan skipper Salman Agha protested by not showing up for the post-match presentation ceremony, which was conducted by Sanjay Manjrekar.
Meanwhile, PCB accused the match referee, Andy Pycroft, of partiality and stated that he acted on BCCI’s behest. The Mohsin Naqvi-led board also demanded his instant sacking and threatened to withdraw from the competition if their demands were not met.
The International Cricket Council (ICC), meanwhile, took the warning lightly, and rejected PCB’s demand, putting the ball in Pakistan’s court.
Now, the Asian Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has caused the chaos by deleting its social media post about the Pakistan vs UAE game, sparking speculations of the match officially being called off. If Pakistan actually pull out, the UAE will advance to the Super Fours
Look at Pakistan. Jaisa wo khele hain… unmein talent hi nahi hai – Madan Lal
Recently, former Indian cricketer Madan Lal stated that Pakistan cricket lacks talent and is nowhere close to India
“Just look at the BCCI. It’s a multi-million-dollar industry now, taking Indian cricket to unprecedented heights. They focus on bettering infrastructure, creating a competitive environment by conducting India A matches, and whatnot. And that’s why our team’s standard is so high.” he told News 18.
“Look at Pakistan. Jaisa wo khele hain… unmein talent hi nahi hai (They lack talent big time). I’ve never seen such shot-making in international cricket. Complete lack of skill,” he added
