About Last Night: Week 5 highlights from Boulder, Broomfield & Longmont

In Week 5 victories, Fairview, Frederick and Monarch each had the mercy rule running clocks going … before halftime.
Down south, Mead switched its on after going up by more than 40 points just after intermission. And back up north, Longmont and Skyline submitted blowouts of their own for each of their first wins of the season.
All in all, local teams fared well through Friday night, finishing 9-5 this week.
Among notables, Longmont’s Jacob Foot had four TDs, including ones of 72 and 63 yards, as the Trojans delivered coach Jordan Graff his first victory with the program.
Meanwhile, Fredrick’s Reno DiGesualdo and Legacy’s Aidan Morton each scored three times in wins. Out in Erie, the tigers handed 4A defending champ Broomfield its first loss of the season to celebrate homecoming. Which means the last undefeated football team in the area is Mead, which throttled Lewis-Palmer.
Centaurus, Lyons and Niwot were on bye.
Thursday
Legacy 32, Horizon 10: Morton ran for three scores as Legacy (2-3, 1-0 5A Front Range South) opened league play with a victory.
The Lightning led 4A defending champ Broomfield by 18 points in Week 4, but they couldn’t hold on, losing 28-27.
They’ll look to string consecutive wins together for the first time this season in Week 6 at Fossil Ridge.
Riverdale Ridge 49, Silver Creek 0: After starting the season 3-0, the Raptors (3-2) have lost two straight.
4A No. 8 Riverdale Ridge (5-0) has now outscored teams 196-24 this fall.
Silver Creek will look to get back on track at Greeley West in Week 6.
Pueblo East 35, Holy Family 14: The Colorado Preps 3A No. 4 Tigers (3-1) committed four turnovers as they lost to the Eagles for the fourth straight time since 2012.
Holy Family will host No. 2 Mead in Week 6.
Friday
5A 7 Fairview 47, Smoky Hill 0: After reopening his recruitment this week, Toray Davis scored again in Week 5 for 5A No. 7 Fairview.
Davis was committed to UCLA, but is back on the market after the Bruins fired coach DeShaun Foster on Sept. 14.
The senior came into Friday as Colorado’s TD leader with 15. In a Week 4 win over Monarch, he scored eight times.

The Knights (4-0) continue a stretch of three straight road games when they travel to Prairie View in Week 6.
Frederick 54, Thornton 6: DiGesualdo had three TDs, Sonny Delpizzo two, and the Golden Eagles (3-2) won their third straight game since starting the year 0-2.
They open league play in 4A North 1 against Loveland in Week 6.
Skyline 55, Standley Lake 28: The Falcons (1-4) scored their most points in a game since Oct. 28, 2022, when they beat Greeley Central 56-7.
They led 22-0 after the first quarter, per their Instagram. They hadn’t scored more than 14 points in any of their first four games of 2025.
They are at 4A No. 8 Riverdale Ridge in Week 6.
Monarch 63, Boulder 6: Monarch has scored more than 40 points for three consecutive weeks.
The Coyotes (4-2), who have now beaten the Panthers the past four years by a margin of (177-13), have a bye in Week 6, then are at Loveland on Oct. 10.
Boulder (0-5) is home against Lakewood on Friday. The Panthers beat the Tigers, 14-13, a year ago.
Erie 26, Broomfield 25: The 5A No. 10 Tigers blocked Max Marchi’s 22-yard field goal attempt in the final seconds to hold on.
Lincoln Hageman caught a TD and returned an interception for another score for Erie (3-2). The Tigers, in the FRL South, are at Rangeview in Week 6..
Kashus Clarvoe had 234 yards and three TDs in the loss for the 4A No. 1 Eagles (4-1), who begin play in the 4A North 2 League next Friday, hosting Longmont.

Mead 50, Lewis-Palmer 9: Ethan Elmore tossed scores to Ryan St. Aubin and Eli Davis.
Noah Chapala and Griffin Kratochvil each had two TDs on the ground, while Cooper Modrzejewski added another. Nolan Mattoon had an interception and Carter Woods recovered a fumble.
The Mavericks are at Holy Family next week. They’ve won five straight over the Tigers since 2017. Their last two meetings (in 2024 and 2021), however, were decided by only a combined 10 points.

Longmont (0-4) 41, Thomas Jefferson 13: Foot scored four times as the Trojans got their first win of the season.
Their reward? They’re at 4A defending champ Broomfield on Friday and then No. 8 Riverdale Ridge on Oct. 10.
Prospect Ridge Academy 21, The Pinnacle 8: Emerson Mallon connected with Sean Graham for an 82-yard touchdown midway through the second quarter as the Miners (3-1) overcame a slow start for their third straight win.
Next, they host 1A No. 4 Forge Christian on Thursday.
