Abbie Chatfield has declared she ‘hates’ conservative influencer Charlie Kirk just hours after he was shot dead.
Kirk, 31, was shot in the neck shortly after midday on Wednesday during a rally at Utah Valley University, in what has been described as a ‘political assassination’ by the state’s governor.
The alleged gunman, who was caught on camera dashing across a rooftop in the moments after he opened fire, is still at large.
Kirk – a father-of-two, founder of Turning Point USA and a loyal Trump ally – toppled from his chair as blood spurted from his neck.
He was rushed to a local hospital, where he was declared dead.
US President Donald Trump described him as a ‘martyr for truth and freedom’ and ordered flags to be flown at half-mast at the White House.
But Chatfield said she ‘hated’ Charlie Kirk – before using his death to make a grim political prediction.
‘Even though I hate Charlie Kirk this is bad for everyone to be honest,’ she wrote on Instagram.

‘The right (and possibly the left) will become more violent in replacement of actual democracy. He will be martyred. They won’t see that this is BECAUSE of right-wing views on gun control that this could even happen.
‘It will cause tensions to rise and drive people further apart than we already are. If this is the beginning, then what’s to come?’
The former reality TV star also shared a quote Kirk gave in April 2023, with Alanis Morissette’s song Ironic playing over it.
‘I think it’s worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights,’ the quote reads.
Citing his own assassination attempt and the killing of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson last year, Trump said that ‘radical left political violence has hurt too many innocent people’.
Trump called it a ‘dark moment for America’.
‘Charlie inspired millions and tonight all who knew him and loved him are united in shock and horror,’ he said.
‘Charlie is a patriot who devoted his life to the cause of open debate and the country that he loves so much, the United States of America,’ the US President said.

‘He’s a model for truth and freedom, and there’s never been anyone who was so respected by youth.
‘Charlie was also a man of deep, deep faith. And we take comfort in the knowledge that he is now at peace with God in heaven.’
Two suspect were arrested before later being released. A door-to-door hunt for the gunman is currently underway.
Former prime minister Tony Abbott said he was ‘mourning the shocking death of Charlie Kirk’.
‘He championed the pursuit of open debate and intellectual freedom in places of education, and did so with great courage,’ Abbott added.
‘My prayers are for his wife and children at this dire time.’
