Minister of Labour and the Public Service, the Hon. Pia Glover-Rolle addressed the Abaco Business Outlook event on Thursday where she emphasized the need for residents to feel the national progress.

She said, “of course we’ve spoken many times about the resilience that has been shown by Abaco and it is important as a government that we that we honour your action, that we meet you halfway. That as you are resilient and as you are making things happen for yourself that our government is able to support you.”

The minister also highlighted some of the ongoing initiatives and infrastructural upgrades on the island such as water upgrades, home repairs, drainage clearance and roadworks. “These are all being accelerated with urgency, thanks to your Members of Parliament, and ensuring that Abaco is not forgotten,” she said.

Glover-Rolle went on to address the reliability of electricity on the island stating the government hybrid microgrid initiative including the use of liquified natural gas and solar electricity will strategically strengthen energy reliability.
