Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers have gotten off to a strong start in their first six games together. After signing a one-year deal in free agency, the first six games of the 2025 NFL season have yielded a 4-2 result. Prior to the start of the season, Rodgers said that this year was likely his last in the NFL. However, there are some who think that he could change his mind. It has been clear through the first six games of the season that Rodgers has looked rejuvenated. He looks happy and healthy, which has resulted in an impressive start for the future Hall of Fame quarterback. Rodgers clearly has more elite football left in the tank if he chooses to keep playing. ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler has reported that Pittsburgh is hoping to bring Rodgers back for the 2026 season. Obviously, the Steelers wanting Rodgers to return and the 41-year-old signal caller wanting to run it back are two different stories. Even if Pittsburgh tries to convince Rodgers to come back for another year, he could choose to say no. However, with the way things are going this season, it might be difficult for Rodgers to walk away. Throughout the first six games of the season with the Steelers, Rodgers has completed 68.6 percent of his pass attempts for 1,270 yards, 14 touchdowns, and five interceptions. He has shown no signs of slowing down yet. Coming up in Week 8, Rodgers will have a chance to get revenge against the Green Bay Packers. He will play his old team for the first time in his career. With a win, Rodgers would become just the fifth quarterback in league history to beat all 32 NFL teams. More than likely, no firm decision will be known until next offseason. Rodgers will not rush a decision when the season comes to an end. Expect to continue hearing a lot of speculation about Pittsburgh’s quarterback situation. Perhaps Rodgers will run it back for one more year with the Steelers, but if not the team will need to move quickly to find a replacement.
