Earlier this week, Aaron Judge passed Yogi Berra on the Yankees’ all-time home run leaderboard, moving into fifth place. After Thursday night’s win, Judge is now tied with Joe DiMaggio for fourth place, with 361 career home runs. Judge spoke on what it means to continue to move into rare territory for one of the most storied franchises in sports.”Two legends,” Judge said after the game, per SNY. “Great all-time Yankees, pretty cool being on a list with them. I think it’s even cooler getting the win doing something like that.”DiMaggio hit 361 home runs in 13 seasons with the Yankees. Judge is in year 10 and has already tied the Hall of Famer. It is worth noting that DiMaggio missed three seasons for military service.Judge is seemingly on his way to his third American League MVP Award. He is slashing .322/.443/.669 with 46 home runs. He now trails only Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle and Lou Gehrig on the Yankees’ franchise home run leaderboard. There is a sizable gap between him and Gehrig for third place. Gehrig hit 493 home runs in 17 seasons. If Judge continues to play at his current pace, he should pass Gehrig, but he has a legitimate chance at giving Ruth a run for his money.Ruth hit 659 home runs with the Yankees in 15 years, and while Judge has a ways to go, he is one of the best home run hitters in the game and could make a push for the record.More MLB: Phillies’ Kyle Schwarber Hints At Preferred Destination in Free Agency
