The New York Jets ended a seven-game losing streak under first-year head coach Aaron Glenn when they earned a hard-fought come-from-behind 39-38 victory at the Cincinnati Bengals that improved the Jets to 1-7 heading into their Week 9 bye. While speaking with reporters on Monday, Glenn addressed the Jets' break coming after they finally put a notch in the win column this fall. Aaron Glenn wishes Jets were playing on first Sunday of November "I'll be honest, and I'll say, man, I wish we were playing next," Glenn explained, per Eric Allen of the Jets' website. "But I do feel like this is a good time for us. Because now, our focus, again as it's always been, it's been on us and some of the things that we just need to clean up. We're going to go back, and we're going to self-scout as far as coaches, and we're going to talk to the players about things. About the good, bad, the ugly, and the solutions, also, for us moving forward. So, there's a good and a bad to it." Understandably, Glenn doesn't want his Jets and the Cleveland Browns to both be on bye leading up to the matchup between those clubs that will take place at MetLife Stadium on Nov. 9. The 2-6 Browns currently seem to be an absolute mess on offense and are licking their wounds coming off a disheartening 32-13 defeat at the New England Patriots this past Sunday. That said, the extra time off should help star Jets receiver Garrett Wilson recover from the knee injury that kept him out of back-to-back games. Glenn's offense will need all the help it can get when facing a Browns defense that features elite pass-rusher Myles Garrett, who tallied five sacks in the loss to the Patriots. What Aaron Glenn hopes Jets can accomplish during bye week "Obviously, after you get a win, you want to continue going, but I also know that there's some things that we have to reflect on and try to continue to fix," Glenn added during his comments. "And understand, man, there's a foundation that we're trying to create and that is an ongoing process, and we feel good about that. Listen, even though the record is not where [we want it] to be – we feel good about the foundation that we're trying to set, so we can be a team that's going to win continuously." Shortly after the Jets picked up their first win of the season, defensive tackle Harrison Phillips insisted that he and others in the locker room never lost faith regarding "the culture [Glenn is] trying to build here." Phillips and Co. will now need to do whatever they can to ensure they carry the energy they had inside the opposing locker room at Cincinnati's Paycor Stadium into next week.
