On Monday, the franchise RB took to Instagram to share a picture of his recovering knee, captioning the post, “Day by day.” Reacting to the post, ESPN reporter Rich Cimini claimed that the athlete has probably undergone surgery for his injured knee. “When the injury first happened, Aaron Glenn mentioned that Allen had two choices — either go through surgery or try rehab — and both options would’ve taken about the same recovery time (around 2–3 months),” he wrote. Meanwhile, an injury analyst re-shared the post and echoed similar sentiments. The team’s head coach moved him to injured reserve on October 2 with no expectations of seeing him before eight to twelve weeks. Until now, the NFL running back hasn’t seen any action, and the situation may stay the same. Allen’s absence is a big blow to the franchise, which is struggling to win its first game this season. On top of this, Breece Hall’s trade talks will make the Jets weaker at running back. Aaron Glenn, who’s already facing the heat for his benching of the $40 million quarterback Justin Fields, can’t afford this.
