A.J. Brown Update Emerges on Thursday

The Philadelphia Eagles are preparing for a “Monday Night Football” matchup against the Green Bay Packers. The Eagles should be fresh after a Week 9 bye week. One player, who needed that week of rest, is wide receiver A.J. Brown. He was forced to miss Philadelphia’s Week 8 win over the New York Giants after suffering a hamstring injury the week prior against the Minnesota Vikings. At 6-2, the Eagles hold sole possession of the NFC East and go into the Packers game as the NFC’s top seed. Their only losses this season have come against the Denver Broncos (Week 5) and the Giants (Week 6). Brown getting ruled out in Week 8 came as no surprise, as he was listed as a non-participant in every injury report. However, his outlook is becoming more hopeful. On Thursday, the Eagles held their first practice of the week, and NBC Sports Philadelphia’s Dave Zangaro reported Brown was practicing. “AJ Brown (hamstring) is practicing today,” Zangaro wrote. Through seven games this season, Brown has the second-most targets (51), third-most receptions (29), second-most yards (395) and second-most touchdowns (three) on the Eagles. Despite getting hurt against the Vikings, he was tremendous with six receptions, 121 yards and two touchdowns. The Packers’ defense could be a problem, holding opposing offenses to just 286.4 yards per game (fifth in the NFL) and 20.8 points per game (eighth in the NFL). However, potentially having Brown back on the field would be a huge boost. However, the Eagles still have two more practices and don’t have to announce his official game status until Saturday. His ability to continue practicing will be a key indicator on whether or not Brown will be active.
