Salary you should be earning in 2025 revealed

How much should you be earning in 2025?

With the world battling a cost-of-living crisis, many Australians say they’re worse off now…

A young Aussie has revealed the insane amount of money he makes doing a job that many people likely haven’t heard of.
The man was stopped on the street in Brisbane by jobs app Getahead, which works like Tinder to match jobseekers with employers, and asked what he does for work and how much he earns.
“I’m a quant trader and I make roughly $10,000 to $25,000 a month,” he said.
“Heck yeah,” the interviewer said, before adding, “A what trader, sorry?”.
A quant trader is a finance professional who uses mathematical models, statistical analysis and computer algorithms to execute financial market trading strategies.
The man explained he trades different assets such a cryptocurrency, stocks and ETFS.
He said he got into the industry because he was “obsessed with making more money than (his) parents combined”.

Quant trading often requires people to have a strong background in mathematics, statistics, and computer science.

And while it is usually commonplace for people in the industry to have a degree in one of these areas, it is not strictly required to become an independent quant trader.
The young man claimed the majority of the skills can be self-taught, noting he was currently working for himself but was also interviewing at firms.
He said the biggest challenge of the job is the “maths and statistics”.
“I would recommend to people looking to break into the space, network with people who have already done it, because it is a bit of a black box industry,” he said.
The video has gained more than tens of thousands of views since being shared yesterday, but not every viewer was convinced by the man’s impressive income.

“Translates to ‘lives at home with mum and dad’,” another claimed, while someone else branded it “complete nonsense”.
However, there were plenty of people who defended the man, with one person questioning why there were people who didn’t believe him.

“It’s not even that much what he makes, you can make way more in trading, and you don’t need fancy clothes or certain way of being to achieve it, just be smart at it,” they said.
Another person revealed they have a friend who is a quant trader, saying people in the industry can “definitely make that type of coin”.
“As a day trader I can confirm this is easily possible,” one added, while another person branded the negativity as tall poppy syndrome.
