A Thousand Blows Season 2 'gritty' first look trailer dropped as Disney+ confirms start date

Disney+ has dropped A Thousand Blows season two’s first official teaser and confirmed exactly when fans can expect its comeback. Inspired by the real-life stories of those fighting to survive in the East End of London in the 1880s, A Thousand Blows’ next series will see where Hezekiah Moscow (played by Malachi Kirby), Sugar Goodson ( Stephen Graham ) and Mary Carr ( Erin Doherty ) are one year on. The newly released season two teaser sees the group reunited as Goodson tells them: “You’re probably wondering why I’ve gathered you all here. “I understand some of you wish me dead. And I don’t blame you. “We’re in danger and we can’t afford to doubt each other.” Following the events of season one, Hezekiah is now a shadow of the man he once was, while Sugar is estranged from his family and drinking himself to death. It is only when Mary returns to Wapping that things start to happen as she is back with her right-hand woman Alice Diamond (Darci Shaw) to reassemble her gang the Forty Elephants. She also comes armed with a plan that will involve all those closest to her and “this time it’s riskier than ever”. What’s even more exciting though is the fact there won’t be too much longer to wait with season two confirmed for release on Friday, January 9, on Disney+ in the UK and Hulu in the US. The all-star cast will also be making a comeback with a couple of new additions thrown into the mix. Adolescence icons Stephen Graham and Erin Doherty are reuniting for A Thousand Blows season two alongside Small Axe actor Malachi Kirby as Hezekiah Moscow. Also making a comeback will be James Nelson-Joyce as Edward “Treacle” Goodson, Darci Shaw as Alice Diamond, Hannah Walters as Eliza Moody and Jason Tobin as Mr Lao. In terms of the new faces introduced for the second season, fans will meet Bull Jeremy who is brought to life by actor Ned Dennehy who was Charlie Strong in Peaky Blinders. Braveheart actress Catherine McCormack will also be joining A Thousand Blows as Sophie Lyons. A Thousand Blows season two premieres on Friday, January 9, on Disney+.
