BRIDGEPORT TWP., MI — A mid-Michigan business is churning commerce again after a vehicle crash disrupted much of its week, staff said.
Butter Crust Bakery, 6181 Dixie Highway in Bridgeport Township, reopened Friday, Oct. 3, a message on the company’s Facebook page stated.
The business was closed for six days following an incident where a vehicle crashed into the bakery’s building on Saturday, Sept. 27. While there were no reported serious injuries, the structural damage to the building left the business unable to operate until the mess was cleaned up.
“We would like to extend our warmest thank you’s to the family (including our employees) and friends (old and new) who selflessly showed up and assisted in the cleanup,” read a post on the Butter Crust Bakery Facebook page.
“We met people who are no longer strangers. Thank you to the police and fire department personnel who were there. Thank you to the hundreds of customers and future customers who left messages on our Facebook page. We are truly blessed to be part of such an incredibly supportive community.”
The business has provided glazed, custard-filled, sprinkle-covered and a wide variety of other doughnuts since 1967.
