ITTN’s Lorraine Hales was in Tenerife for the Spring Hotels Group Fam Trip, where she joined travel professionals, local suppliers, and industry partners for the group’s annual appreciation event – one of the most anticipated evenings on the island’s tourism calendar. What a night we had at the Biggest Island event of the year an appreciation night for Tour Operators, local suppliers and providers hosted by Spring Hotels Group. The Cleopatra hotel was the stunning setting for an extravagant night of theatre and entertainment that could have stepped right out from a Hollywood movie set. The theme was Ancient Greek and Rome complete with a dynamic cast of Gladiators, Chariots, Roman maidens Egyptian Gods and Goddesses and singers and dancers galore the show was held on the temporary stage erected by the pool area and on pedestals that were lining the red carpet. Almost everyone arrived to the Costume party in full suitable attire it was hard to recognise people in the elaborate costumes. There was a running buffet dotted throughout the party area and barbeque style food served too and a posse of happy servers to keep us all topped up with drinks. The entertainment was jaw dropping and such a delight to witness and we sang and danced to popular numbers intermingled throughout the show. It ended with an incredible firework display that went on for over 7 minutes lighting up the island skies. After we attended the afterparty with live band Salvia Badias who kept us dancing till the wee hours in the conference center allowing for the hotel to restore some normality to the pool area for the guests the following day. It really was an event you had to be there to witness in person as the photos are very hard to capture the essence and the energy of the night.
