The highway was not fully re-opened until the next day at 10:20 a.m.

A video posted on X by @CrimeWatchTO showed a red vehicle’s front end wreckage lying in a heap on the highway and a big bite taken out of the white cement divider between the east and westbound lanes of traffic.

Meanwhile in a separate incident on Saturday night, OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt confirmed officers were made aware of a fight on Hwy. 401, near Hwy. 400, after video was posted on social media.

A video posted on X by @CrimeWatchTO showed a group of males, whose cars were pulled over on the curb to the side of the highway, throwing punches while other people in cars watched. Both groups of men got back into their vehicles.

Schmidt said no charges were laid and the incident is under investigation.
