On the auspicious occasion of Lord Vishwakarma Jayanti and the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, artisans and craftsmen in Haryana received a significant gift. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini launched the Mukhyamantri Vishwakarma Samman Yojana, under which artisans in the state who undergo skill training through the Pradhanmantri Vishwakarma Yojana will receive a top-up incentive of Rs 5,000.
The Chief Minister made this announcement while addressing a state-level function in Rohtak on Wednesday, organized to mark Vishwakarma Jayanti and Labour Day. Development and Panchayat Minister Krishan Lal Panwar, Public Health Engineering Minister Ranbir Gangwa, former Minister Manish Grover, and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
Nayab Singh Saini said it was a fortunate coincidence that the day marks both the birth anniversary of Lord Vishwakarma, the divine craftsman, and the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, whom he described as the architect of a “New India” in the 21st century. He paid homage to Lord Vishwakarma on behalf of the 2.75 crore people of Haryana and extended warm birthday greetings and best wishes to the Prime Minister.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister announced a grant of Rs 31 lakh to the Vishwakarma Education Committee, Rohtak. He further stated that, on application by the Vishwakarma community, a plot will be allotted in accordance with the regulations of the HSVP. He also informed that under the Mukhyamantri Vivaah Shagun Yojana, Rs 22 crore will be released by September 30 for the marriage of 4,200 daughters in the Yojana will commence soon, under which women will receive a benefit of Rs 2,100 per month.
Paying tribute to Lord Vishwakarma, the Chief Minister said the day is dedicated to honouring hardworking, honest and industrious labourers who are shaping the nation’s progress with their dedication. He said that Lord Vishwakarma inspired generations to value hard work and skill, and it is through the tireless efforts and craftsmanship of millions of his followers that society has advanced from ancient times to the present.
Over 41,000 register in Haryana under PM Vishwakarma Yojana, 30,655 artisans successfully trained
The Chief Minister said that today’s artisans face multiple challenges like rising costs of tools, rapidly changing designs, limited market access, and the need for credit. Recognizing these issues, Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi launched the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana, which provides skill training, a daily stipend of Rs 500 during training, and tool kits for artisans. The scheme also facilitates business loans at nominal interest rates, along with assistance for product verification, branding, and promotion. In addition, artisans are given access to e-commerce platforms and the JAM portal, enabling them to sell their products across India and abroad.
The Chief Minister said that 41,366 applicants have registered under the scheme in the state. Of these, 30,655 artisans have completed skill training, and around 12,000 have received tool kits. Further, loans worth Rs 56 crore have been disbursed to 6,000 artisans. He also said that the state government has set up the Shri Vishwakarma Skill University at Dudhola in Palwal district, which has emerged as a unique model of skill-based education and training for the entire nation.
India poised to become world’s third-largest economy on the strength of its workforce
Nayab Singh Saini said that India is progressing rapidly under the able leadership of the Prime Minister. Today, India has emerged as the world’s fourth-largest economy and is steadily moving towards becoming the third-largest. He emphasized that this remarkable progress has been powered by the country’s hardworking labour force. The Prime Minister has set the vision of a “Developed India by 2047”, and the labour force will play a pivotal role in realizing this goal.
He further informed that the benefits of various welfare schemes for registered workers in the construction and industrial sectors are being provided directly through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer). A rehabilitation policy has also been implemented for workers affected by the serious lung disease of silicosis, under which approximately Rs 38 crore has been disbursed so far. Under the Mukhyamantri Shram Puraskaar Yojana, outstanding workers are honored with awards. Likewise, under the Kanyadaan Scheme, a financial assistance of Rs 1,01,000 is provided to workers’ families for the marriage of each daughter. In addition, a shagun amount of Rs 21,000 is given for the marriage of a son as well as for the worker’s own marriage.
He informed that the Haryana Unorganized Workers Social Security Board has been established for the welfare of workers employed in the unorganized sector. Over the past 11 years, the Haryana Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board has spent Rs 3,866 crore on the welfare of construction workers, while the Haryana Labour Welfare Board has spent approximately Rs 778 crore for the welfare of workers during the same period.
The Chief Minister called upon everyone to take a pledge to respect artisans, empower them, and ensure their prosperity. He urged that the spirit of ‘Vocal for Local’ should become a way of life for all.
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini also visited an exhibition on the life of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, organized by the Department of Information, Public Relations, and Languages, at the Vishwakarma Jayanti celebration site. The exhibition highlighted the Prime Minister’s public service initiatives and his efficient work ethic. Sh K. Makarand Pandurang, Director General of the Department, provided detailed information about the exhibition to the Chief Minister.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister honoured outstanding artisans. Mahendra Kumar of Faridabad (Terracotta category), Deepak of Kurukshetra (Wood and Bamboo Craft), Shiv Kumar of Rewari (Metal), and Khemraj of Panipat (Handloom) were each awarded the first prize of Rs 3 lakh. In addition, Surender Kumar of Rewari (Painting category) and Kedar of Faridabad (Terracotta) received the second prize of Rs 51,000 each.
Vishwakarma community is the backbone of a self-reliant India – Dr. Arvind Sharma
Speaking on the occasion, Cooperation Minister Dr. Arvind Sharma said that in his message today, Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi emphasized that to make the country self-reliant, it is essential to increase the use of indigenous products. Whether in textiles, automobiles, or other sectors, the commitment to “Vocal for Local” will be decisive in realizing the vision of a developed India. He said that the Vishwakarma community forms the backbone of the nation and will play a pivotal role in building a self-reliant India.
Dr. Arvind Sharma further said that the Prime Minister launched the “PM Vishwakarma Yojana” on September 17, 2023. The scheme is designed to provide financial assistance, modern tools, training, and market access to artisans engaged in 18 traditional professions, including carpenters, blacksmiths, potters, cobblers, and others, so that they may become self-reliant and empowered. He added that under the leadership of Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh Saini, the Haryana government is making every effort to ensure effective implementation of all Central Government schemes in the state.

Former Minister and BJP National Secretary O.P. Dhankhar said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is taking the nation to new heights in the very direction once laid by Lord Vishwakarma for creation and development. Tradition of brotherhood in Haryana revived under CM Nayab Singh Saini’s leadership – Ramchandra Jangra
Rajya Sabha MP Ramchandra Jangra said that Haryana has, for centuries, been a symbol of brotherhood, mutual cooperation, and social harmony. Today, under the leadership of Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh Saini, that tradition is being further strengthened. He said that the Vishwakarma community, along with other communities such as blacksmiths, tailors, potters, and the Saini community, have all made invaluable contributions to nation-building, making Haryana prosperous and self-reliant through their respective roles. He said that the spirit of mutual brotherhood among the 36 communities is the true identity of Haryana, and the Chief Minister is constantly working to reinforce this harmony.
Haryana Government grants Notional Increment for Pension Calculation
The Haryana Government has decided to grant one notional increment to its employees for the purpose of pension calculation, who have retired or will retire on June 30 or December 31, provided they have completed the mandatory one-year service with satisfactory work and conduct.
Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, who also holds the charge of Additional Chief Secretary, Finance Department, has issued a letter in this regard. This decision has been taken in compliance with the Hon’ble Supreme Court’s order dated February 20, 2025 (Union of India vs. M. Siddaraj) and the memorandum issued by the Central Government on May 20, 2025. As specifically mentioned in the Hon’ble Supreme Court’s orders, this increment will be admissible only for the purpose of pension calculation and will not apply to other pensionary benefits such as gratuity, leave encashment, or commutation.
This benefit will be applicable under the Haryana Civil Services (RP/ACP) Rules, 2008 to those employees who retired between June 30, 2006 and June 30, 2015, and who had completed one year of service with satisfactory conduct. In addition, this benefit will also be available under the Haryana Civil Services (RP/ACP) Rules, 2016 to employees who have retired or will retire on June 30 or December 31, subject to the same conditions.
The increased pension, after granting one increment, will be payable from May 2023. No arrears or dues prior to April 30, 2023 will be payable. Employees who approached the courts and obtained a favorable judgment will receive the revised pension as per the court’s decision. In cases where appeals are pending before the High Court, the final benefit will depend on the outcome of the court’s decision.
Employees who retired on June 30 or December 31 after completing six months or more but less than one year of service will not be entitled to this benefit, as this matter is still under consideration of the Hon’ble Supreme Court. The State Government has filed SLPs in these cases and interim stay orders are in force in many of them.
The arrears of pension will be payable from May 1, 2023. Any excess payments already made, including those made under contempt proceedings, will not be recoverable and will remain subject to the final judicial decision. All concerned departments and officers have been directed to strictly comply with these instructions and to bring the matter to the notice of the Hon’ble Courts as required.

‘Shramik Samman evam Jagrukta’ programme organised in Yamunanagar
Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Shyam Singh Rana, said that workers play a crucial role in the progress of both the nation and the state. It is because of their hard work and dedication that the country moves forward on the path of development.
Shyam Singh Rana was speaking today as the Chief Guest at the ‘Shramik Samman evam Jagrukta’ programme organised by the Labour Department in Yamunanagar. On this occasion, workers were informed about their rights and various welfare schemes provided by the government.
Shyam Singh Rana said that the purpose of the ‘Shramik Samman evam Jagrukta’ programme is to honor workers and make them aware of their rights, government welfare schemes, and health-related awareness. He emphasised that workers have a significant role in nation-building.
He further said that special programmes are being organised by the Labour Department across Haryana on the occasion of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s birthday. These programmes include not only honoring workers but also organising health camps for them.
Under the programme, Refreshments and sweets were distributed at six major labor chowks in Yamunanagar district. At ITI Chowk, Yamunanagar, Mayor Smt. Suman Bahmani and Labour Inspector,Smt. Kiran Verma were present. At Fountain Chowk (Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk), MLA Yamunanagar, Sh. Ghanshyam Dass Arora and Assistant Labour Commissioner Mr. Roshan Lal participated. At Jhanda Chowk, Jagadhri, former Minister, Sh. Kanwar Pal and Assistant Labour Commissioner, Smt. Anjali were present.
Former MLA, Balwant Singh and Assistant Labour Welfare Officer Smt. Usha Arora attended the event at Sadhaura Grain Market, while District Deputy Chief, Sh. Rampal and Labour Inspector, Sh. Balinder Kumar were present at Labor Chowk, Chhachhrauli.
Besides this, various welfare schemes of the Haryana Government’s Labour Department were shared with them. As part of the programme, health check-ups were conducted by the ESI Department, and necessary medicines were also provided to the workers.

Turning his birthday into a moment of national service, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a countrywide drive for women’s health and nutrition by unveiling the ‘Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar’ campaign and inaugurating the ‘8th Poshan Maah’ from Madhya Pradesh.
Meanwhile, in Haryana, Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Sh. J.P. Nadda and Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, launched the campaign during a grand state-level ceremony organised in Rohtak on Wednesday, marking a major step towards strengthening healthcare and nutrition services for women, adolescent girls, and children.
This campaign has been termed a historic step towards strengthening healthcare and nutrition facilities for women, adolescent girls and children. It also marks significant progress in realizing the Prime Minister’s vision of raising the quality of life for women and ushering in a new era of women-led development. The ‘8th Poshan Maah’ aims at spreading awareness about the importance of nutrition for pregnant women, lactating mothers, adolescent girls and children under six years of age.
Notably, at the Rohtak ceremony, several initiatives were also rolled out, including women’s health check-up camps, the fourth phase of the ‘Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan’, and a Special Immunization Drive. Sh. J.P. Nadda also symbolically launched ‘Poshan Maah’ by feeding a child with a nutritious meal.
Furthermore, to highlight progress in improving gender balance, village sarpanches namely Renu from Samchana village, Saroj from Kharawar, and Kajal from Bhaini Surjan were honored for leading villages where the birth rate of girls has surpassed that of boys. Besides this, senior citizens above 70 years of age were provided Vay Vandana cards under the Ayushman Bharat- Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana. Beneficiaries of the scheme were also distributed Ayushman Cards on the occasion. Cancer survivors, who triumphed over the disease, were honored as ‘Cancer Champions.’
During the ceremony, Union Minister, J.P. Nadda and Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini also administered a pledge to the gathering, encouraging people to commit to organ donation and to adopt a balanced, nutritious diet.

Haryana Government designates MC Commissioners as ex-officio Additional CEOs of Metropolitan Development Authorities
The Haryana Government has designated the Commissioners of Municipal Corporations of Gurugram, Faridabad, Sonipat, Panchkula, and Hisar as ex-officio Additional Chief Executive Officers of their respective Metropolitan Development Authorities. An order in this regard was issued by Chief Secretary Sh. Anurag Rastogi.
Additionally, the Commissioner of Municipal Corporation, Manesar, has been designated as ex-officio Additional Chief Executive Officer-II of the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority with immediate effect.
The existing Additional Chief Executive Officers of the Metropolitan Development Authorities will continue to hold their present posts.
Special campaign will be launched across the state promoting environmental protection and greenery From September 17 to October 2, 2025
‘Namo Van’ to be set up at 75 locations along with spreading the message of cleanliness
Haryana Environment and Forest Minister, Rao Narbir Singh said that from September 17 to October 2, a Special campaign will be carried out across the state, fully dedicated to promoting environmental protection and greenery.The aim of this campaign is to spread Mahatma Gandhi’s message of maintaining cleanliness to every citizen and to implement Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi’s ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign.
Sharing information in this regard, the Forest Minister said that the Haryana Forest Department has prepared a special action plan to make this campaign a great success. Under this plan, the slogan “Ek Ped Hazaron Sanson Ka Sahara, Aaj Lagao Kal Bachao” will be widely promoted. As part of this effort, ‘Namo Van’ or parks will be established at 75 locations across the state. These parks will serve as a unique gift from the people of Haryana to Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi on his 75th birthday. Through these forests and parks, Haryana will not only enhance greenery but will also provide a clean environment for future generations.
He further said that on September 25, on the occasion of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Jayanti activities like, cleanliness drive, awareness campaign etc. will be organised under the “Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath” campaign. On this day, all Forest Department officers, and employees will also participate in this cleanliness drive at various public places, promoting the message of cleanliness in society.
Rao Narbir Singh said that to spread the message of importance of cleanliness and greenery to the general public, the department has prepared four special mobile vans. These vans will be deployed sequentially in all circles and districts of the state. In the North Circle, the campaign will run for three days each in Panchkula, Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, and Ambala districts. Similarly, in the Central Circle, the vans will be active for three days each in Karnal, Panipat, Sonipat, Rohtak, and Jhajjar. In the South Circle, programmes will be conducted for three days each in Faridabad, Nuh, and Rewari, and for two days each in Palwal, Gurugram, and Mahendragarh districts. In the West Circle, the campaign will run for three days each in Jind, Sirsa, and Bhiwani, and for two days each in Fatehabad, Hisar, and Charkhi Dadri districts.Through these vans, the general public will be motivated toward environmental protection and cleanliness.
Rao Narbir Singh appealed to the people of the state that every citizen must actively participate in the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign and treat the cleanliness initiative as a personal responsibility. He especially appealed to the youth and students to take part in environmental and cleanliness-related programmes during this Special campaign, inspiring their families, society, and the entire state.
During the Special campaign, the Forest Department will also organise slogan writing, painting competitions, and other cultural activities for school children to raise environmental and cleanliness awareness from childhood itself. He emphasised that if even small children in society start thinking and taking steps in this direction, not just Haryana but the entire country will surely become clean and green, he added.
Rao Narbir Singh further said that the Special campaign is not just a government formality but a call to every citizen’s responsibility. If everyone comes together to plant trees and make the pledge of cleanliness part of life, environmental protection will no longer be a distant dream but a near-future reality.

Under the guidance of Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and Labour Minister Anil Vij, the Labour Department organized a ‘Shramik Samman evam Jagrukta Samaroh’ across the state on the auspicious occasion of Vishwakarma Jayanti. This programme was held simultaneously at a total of 146 labour squares located in all districts of the state, in which around 33,000 workers participated. A large number of workers from factories, shops, construction sites, and the unorganized sector were present.
A government spokesperson informed that the main objective of this programme was to make workers aware of their rights, safety provisions, and welfare schemes being run by the government, as well as to honour their contribution to society. On this occasion, workers were informed about their rights and safety provisions under labour laws. They were also given detailed information about various welfare schemes being run by the Labour Department.
He further said that to explain the information in a simple and effective way, specially prepared information brochures, posters, and banners were used. Through this, workers could easily understand the schemes in simple language. During the programme, sweets were distributed among all the workers as a mark of respect. Departmental officers, public representatives, social workers, and local distinguished guests were present at each venue. They appreciated the workers’ efforts and contributions and encouraged them to avail the benefits of welfare schemes.
On this occasion, speakers said that workers are the backbone of the state’s economic and industrial progress. It is through their hard work and dedication that industries, construction, transport, and trade flourish. The goal of the Labour Department is to ensure that every worker is aware of his rights, works in a safe environment, and can secure a better life for his family.
The workers also shared their problems and experiences, which the departmental officers discussed attentively and assured solutions.
This initiative of the Haryana Labour Department is not only an important step towards spreading awareness among the working class but also a symbol of honouring their contribution and enhancing the dignity of workers in society.

Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda inaugurated the Namo Van, being developed through the Miyawaki method, in Sector 2 of Rohtak city on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday by planting a sapling. Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, Co-operation Minister Dr. Arvind Sharma, Health Minister, Aarti Singh Rao and BJP State President Sh Mohan Lal Badauli were also present.
Union Health Minister Nadda, along with the Chief Minister, pledged to protect the environment by planting around 10,000 saplings in the Namo Van with the active participation of Rohtak residents. Women, youth, children and senior citizens turned out in large numbers to join the plantation drive. While interacting with nature lovers during the event, Nadda said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, through his vision of healthy living in a clean environment, is steering the nation towards a developed India. It is our collective responsibility to contribute in making this vision a reality, he added.
He encouraged women to participate in environmental protection in the same way they diligently manage their household responsibilities, and also become guardians of the environment by planting more sapling. Thousands of women present at the event assured Nadda and Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh Saini that the women of Rohtak would actively support the Prime Minister’s campaign for a Clean and Healthy India.
