Staffordshire primary school celebrates 70th birthday with themed dress up and music day for pupils

Burton Manor Primary School in Stafford hosted a music day on Friday, September 29 and provided their pupils with interactive and enjoyable drumming sessions throughout the day.

With the help of Entrust Music Service, a music education provider in Staffordshire for over 75 years, the school held 20 minute sessions from 9.10am to 3.05pm for children aged 5-11.

It was part of a full day of celebrations at the school, who received an Ofsted rating of ‘GOOD’ during their most recent inspection in October 2024.

Year groups three and four dressed up in 1960s inspired costumes having started the new school year learning about school life in the sixties, life in the sixties, the moon landing, sixties tv, sixties music, maps from the area in 1960.

Their day consisted of creating new fact-files and logos for the school, as well as taking part in drumming.

Years five and six marked the 70th birthday celebrations by donning 70s outfits, as well as taking part in the drumming sessions put on throughout the day.
