Major gas works in Humberston to last eight weeks in run up to Christmas

A consultation event is being held ahead of major gas works set to take place in Humberston . The upcoming gas works are described as essential to keeping homes and buildings in the area warm. Network Plus will be carrying out the works on behalf of Cadent Gas. They will involve the replacement of 1,200 metres of gas pipes. The pipes are located under Grimsby Road, Wilton Road, and Jackson Place, in Humberston. Work are scheduled to begin from Monday, November 3. It is expected to last approximately eight weeks. Before finalising necessary traffic management plans, Network Plus is holding a consultation event. This will be held at Cleethorpes Business Centre, at Wilton Industrial Estate, DN36 4AS, on Thursday, October 2, from 9:30am to 2:30pm. It will give businesses and residents the chance to ask questions and give feedback on the planned traffic management. They will also be able to give information on access requirements to premises. Temporary traffic management will be needed to allow engineers to carry out the works as safely and quickly as possible. Those seeking more information on the project are advised to contact Cadent Gas on 0800 090 3071. Alternatively, email CustomerCareEM@cadentgas.com . Last September, gas works in a part of Grimsby were temporarily postponed due to resident and council concerns over the traffic management measures in place . These works, in Armstrong Street and Charlton Street area, were ahead of future road safety improvements and were later successfully completed. Wilton Road is also no stranger to utility works. A number of businesses sought recompense for disruption caused by significant tailbacks on one day in June due to emergency works by Anglian Water affecting a nearby stretch of Humberston Road.
