In continuation of his efforts towards promotion of education in Ogbaru Local Government Area, the Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Somtochukwu Udeze has doled out an-other N10 million education grant to Ogbaru students in tertiary institutions and N2.5 million to secondary category to facilitate their tuition fees and other educational needs.
Speaking during the event enti-tled,”Ogbaru Youth Parliament: The Future Is Now, Not Tomorrow,” Udeze noted that the programme was the third edition of its kind and second phase of his N10 million education grant, urging the beneficiaries to be determined to make a mark in their fields of studies, while appealing to them to support Gov-ernor Chukwuma Soludo’s re-election in view of his giant strides in all sectors of the State economy, especially in edu-cation.
In their separate remarks, the Chair-man on the occasion, Sir Ikenna Odume and a member of the Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board, Dame Chinyere Mbakwe, expressed gratitude to the Speaker for his support to Ogbaru students and charged the beneficiaries to make good use of the money and their time, by taking their studies seriously.
Guest lecturers at the event, including former member of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Ejiofor Egwuatu, two entrepreneurs, Mr. Ifeanyi Ogbaji and Mrs. Adaobi Onyele, encouraged the Ogbaru Youth and students to believe in themselves by being committed to their studies and skills to brighten their future, whilethankingtheSpeaker, Udezeforhis special interest in the youth and students of Ogbaru Local Government Area.
